Charged 192$ for a six month subscription

I have the six month subscription, maximum retainers, and the premium companion app.

How can my sub be 192$ in the US?

This just put me in the red, and I’m unsure of what I’m able to do.

Was this the second lore book? I ore ordered that as well, but I’m unsure if they are charging for that yet. What should I do? Call customer support? Ask to know exactly what I’m paying for?

$13 x 6 months for the sub fee. $2 x 7 retainers x 6 months for the retainers. $5 x 6 months for the app.

It all maths out correctly for me at $192. What were you expecting it to be?

As for what you can do about it, nothing you can do as far as I know. Unless you contact your bank/credit card company and cancel the transaction. Which I emphatically do not recommend, as SE will likely permanently lock your FF14 account for a chargeback. The Mogstation doesn't hide your total when you make a purchase so you had to approve the amount at least once, which makes it highly unlikely that SE support will be willing to change anything for you.

Those maximum retainers add up you know...not sure why anyone would want to ludicrously pay that much for all of them.

$2 per retainer × 8 retainers = $16 per month × 6 months = $96

Or is the app charged separately? Because all together, it should be $203.94 by my calculations.

If you only have 7 paid retainers then your $192 (well, $191.94) comes out right. I think with the app, though, your max paid retainers goes up to 8.

Ok, corrected on max paid retainers is 7. (The extra for getting the premium companion app is an extra free retainer, not an extra paid one like I thought.) So with that, let me try the math again:

6 months subscription (before adding extras) = $77.94
$2 per retainer × 7 retainers = $14 per month × 6 months = $84
Premium companion app = $5 per month × 6 months = $30
Total : $191.94

$2 per retainer × 8 retainers = $16 per month × 6 months = $96

Unless they changed it recently, I believe you can only get 7 extra retainers.

For future I would suggest doing the maths first before buying all types of subscriptions for these things. That is entirely correct, with the small reduction in price for paying the month bundles.

SE also sends out an email when there's an upcoming payment. It doesn't contain the amount directly, but it does encourage you to go to the mog station to verify such details.

Anyways OP... do you really need the maximum number of retainers? There are some tips I can give towards reducing inventory use if you want, unless you're using them for ventures or such.

Otherwise, well, yeah. It's best to verify the total of something like that, especially in a financial situation where such a cost at the wrong time might cause trouble.
