I'm in the process of unlocking hunts now, I neglected to do it early on & wasted maelstrom seals by hitting the cap, wasn't really paying attention while working through the MSQ, but should have them done soon along with a few more beast tribe quests, at least then I can use those for my alt.

Use those tomes to buy the i360 gear (or i390 if you build up enough genesis)
Start by replacing the lowest ilvl gear you have just to get your avg ilvl over the i300 hump.

After that run the 70 dungeons for i300-345 gear (depending on your ilvl) to slowly build up your ilvl along with getting more mendacity and genesis tomes.
You can also hop into deltascape and the 24m to break up the dungeon runs. There is also eureka if you dont mind the grind to up your job gear a little bit.
Ah didn't think of that, been running them on my lv.62 NIN, i'll concentrate on using them for my SAM then to unlock that content, chances are i'll get drops which I can use on my NIN when I get to lv.70 with that too.

I tried Eureka..... was getting absolutely smashed, was on my own though, had to make sure I was using those regen/hp potions that you can buy from the NPC there to make sure I could last a fight to chain stuff together, and god help if I aggro'd more than one enemy lol !! Also didn't realise as soon as your level increased you couldn't get chains if you fought enemies lower than your level !! Done one session there & think I came away with about 18 of those Protean Crystals, and looking at the upgrades of the antiquated items through the first stage to final, it's going to take maybe 1300 of those crystals just for a weapon..... no idea if the drop rate of those crystals gets better later in Eureka or when in a party, but it seems like there's better way to spend my time & make better progress than there, I could be wrong though..

I hope you are aware that Hunting Logs (H) which rewards you maelstrom seals is different than Clan Hunts. The latter rewards Allied seals (ARR) and Centurio seals (HW and SB) which you can trade for riding maps (increase mount speed) on top of gear and other stuff. If you already do, that's good. Just a reminder you in case you didn't.

Don't be shy to shout for NM train invite where people in groups spawn bosses and kill them. It is the most effective and fastest way to gain EXP, lockboxes, crystals and even Genesis tomes! Although you won't receive the last two if your level is lower than the boss. As you get higher, those crystals will come raining towards you. I got enough for two weapons by the time I reach elemental level 20. There are no level restrictions when to join the NM party, but it is better at level 9 where you can attune to aetherytes for easily teleports. If not, higher level party members often are willing to give you a ride on two-seater mount. Completing challenge logs also gives a good chunk of EXP.

This guide explains very well about what you need to do in Anemos.

Yeah, Mendacity and Genesis tomestones will be your best friends atm. The pre-4.4 dungeons should drop a decent amount of Mendacity with each run, and there's no limit to how much of those tomes you can grab in a week, though you can only carry up to about 2000 at a time before having to cash in to grab more. Once you've unlocked both the current Ivalice 24-man raids, you can run those for not only more tomes and gear, but also to collect coins when you complete them. One coin each from both Rabanastre and Ridoranna will let you trade for one Mendacity gear upgrade item that'll let you trade them and the respective pieces of gear for the augmented i370 versions. You can only get a maximum of 450 Genesis tomes per week, but these can be traded at Rhalgr's for i390 gear. The normal Omega raids can also drop parts to be exchanged for gear as well. Deltascape and Sigmascape normal gear is a bit dated at this point, but you'll need to clear both tiers to have access to Alphascape normal, and you can trade those parts for i380 gear. The fights might be a bit tougher than typical story bosses, and you can only win one part per fight, per week, but it's not too bad really. Also you'll need to beat Alphascape V4 at least once a week for seven weeks if you want access to the i390 weapon (if you don't do savage raiding that is).

It seems like a lot at first, but you'll be getting tome bonuses with each new dungeon/boss clear. Once you clear the latest story dungeon and St. Mocianne's Arboretum Hard you'll also have access to Expert roulette, which has a very generous bonus to Genesis tomes. You can trade hunt seals for lower-tier former tome gear, but it's probably not worth it. If you're serious about hunting, the tomestones you get from that should already help supplement you towards more recent gear. Also, lv. 70 gazelle maps as well as Eureka can be alternatives to gaining tomestones. Basically, you have a lot of options, but your easiest route will be collecting tomestones for gear trades, and Mendacity is probably the fastest method of getting entry-level ilevels for the current patch content.

Yeah, I hadn't done the quest "let the hunt begin" which was required to do the clan hunt unlock quests, i'v done the first part, need to move onto clan hunts now.

I ran my daily's with my SAM yesterday instead, managed to purchase some ilvl360 gear with my tomes, which then brought my average up high enough to do the first dungeon in 4.1, also unlocked deltascape, so will do a bit of homework before running that.

Also, on PS4, is there anyway to turn off effects from party members ?

Under Character Configuration -> Control Settings -> Character, setting Battle Effects settings for your party to Off will remove a lot of them. The remaining effects not affected by that setting cannot be turned off. (I really wish that "off" meant completely off, but it doesn't. There are still a lot of swirling flashing lights associated with various actions and statuses regardless of your settings.)

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated !!

Done a bit of work, got my beast tribe quests unlocked, got the alliance raid's on my roulette, unlocked Skalla, also unlocked Rabanastre & i'm sitting at 310, so have a few more dungeons I can unlock at that level, but will need to raise it a bit to do Ridorana.

I had an absolute tuning in Rabanastre on my first run, even after reading a guide, there was a guy on our team moaning about our DPS figures, not sure how he was seeing them ? But I think i'll go try out those striking dummy trials to see where I fit, running raids/dungeons i'm definitely preferring using my NIN over SAM currently, apart from running my combos & attack's I like having the ability to cast Suiton & then use Trick Attack to increase the damage to the enemy, which I believe is party/raid wide, so i'm finding it a bit more flexible than SAM's outright damage.

I'll do a bit more homework before running the raid again I think
