Steps:
I'm trying to get my ilvl up to the point where I can run the first of the Sigmascape raids (ilvl 325 required) and I've noticed that my Item Level number doesn't accurately reflect what the tooltip for Item Level says it should.

The tooltip reads, "The average level of all the gear you have equipped" and has the Item Level listed as 323. Here is a list of the ilvl for each piece of gear I have equipped right now:

Weapon: 290
Head: 360
Chest: 330
Hands: 320
Waist: 310
Legs: 320
Feet: 320
Ears: 360
Neck: 330
Wrist: 330
Ring 1: 330
Ring 2: 315

These twelve items average to 326.25, not 323. Since Sigmascape requires ilvl 325 to access, I should be able to run this duty with an average ilvl of 326 but can't because the game sees my ilvl 3 points too low at 323. I went through all of my classes and found that multiple were off by a few points. Listed below is the Item Level in the character screen, the average ilvl of equipped items (parentheses), and the difference relative to the stated ilvl (If actual average is two higher than character screen, "+2"). NOTE: All of these assume that the game rounds to the nearest whole value for item level:

Ninja: 260 (261), +1
Machinist: 242 (243), +1
Dark Knight: 222 (222), +0
Summoner: 241 (242), +1
Dragoon: 198 (195), -3
Warrior: 32 (33), +1
Paladin: 222 (215), -7
Monk: 33 (33), +0
Bard: 35 (35), +0
Thaumaturge: 16 (17), +1
Samurai: 323 (326), +3
Red Mage: 98 (97), -1

For fun, I also checked one of my Carpenter gear since it has the highest level gear of all the crafting classes:

CRP: 334 (335), +1

Once I finished this, I had a guildmate do the same checks and all of their item levels match perfectly.

Something is amiss on my end with the gear calculation. Since the tooltip for item level says "Average level of all gear equipped", it suggests that doing the item level math by hand should produce the same result as the value posted in the Character screen but, in my case, it doesn't. Had I not been situated where the Character screen says a value less than what's required for Sigmascape but the math shows a value higher than what's required, I probably would have never noticed. However, this could exist on multiple accounts, locking users out of content that they should be able to access or, in the case of my Paladin, allowing users into content that they shouldn't be able to access.
