Spell Speed VS Spell Damage for Black Mage?

    Hello everyone!

Soon, I'll play my third character, which will be a Black Mage. I asked advice from my friends as to how I should play as Black Mage and one of them told me that prioritizing spellcasting speed may actually be more important than spell damage. Is there truth to this? What do you think? Also, any other Black Mage advice is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Personally, given your past threads, I think you should focus on the feel and rotation of blm first. Worrying about stats below lvl 70 is largely pointless because you'll need to put those melds on your 70 gear. When you get to 70,ask again.

Right now, there's a few Stat priorities, depending on what exactly you're going for. When you get versed with blm, come back. I have a fair amount of experience with it (it's my dungeon main), so I can help some after you get your feet wet enough.

He needs to focus on a lot more than that. He proudly claims to have scammed players for gil. I pray to The Twelve that he's just a troll.

Define "feet wet enough." What level and how far in the main story are we talking about here?

He's claimed that in quite a few threads, so.

How many times do I have to tell you people that I don't scam players! I'll repeat what I said before.

I DON'T SCAM PLAYERS. THEY WILLINGLY GIVE ME THEIR STUFF OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF THEIR HEART. I SIMPLY HAVE THE PERSUASION SKILLS TO ENTICE THEIR BENEVOLENT TENDENCIES.

There's a difference between what I do and actual scammers, you know.

Lvl 70 with several expert runs under your belt would suffice. The blm rotation isn't complete until 70 because of Foul. Blm has the easiest rotation but an incredibly high skill ceiling. Knowing the nuances of the job will make the difference between a mediocre and good blm.

Yea, actual scammers are smart enough to not gloat the way you do.

Personally, I do Crit and DirtHit. But that's just me. I've tried a Spell speed build wasnt really my style. With a build like mine a big down fall is that sometimes you have really really good runs and sometimes you have not so good runs. Depends on how often you DirectCrit. I've seen a Fire ones DirectCrit for just has much damage has a DirectHit Fire 4. Depends the RNG. Although even if you do my build per say you must must know your rotation else you'll be behind on DPS on runs where it's not in your favor. Especially in Savage raids.

Course with that being said, since I usually have alot of time to see what's going on with my longer cast times. I try to make up for it with casting Apo, Manashifts and Erases on my team. Something to help out has much as I can. I feel if I had quick cast times I wouldn't be doing that because I'd just tunnel on throwing out has much Fire 4's has i can. With low SS I know I can only throw out about 3-4 every Astral Fire
