Make Eternal Bonding Required Items More Clear

We just had to reschedule our eternal bond because we didn't know that you need to keep the blank invitation. We created all 40 invites from it, so then we thought that it was no longer useful and discarded it. Then because we didn't have it any more, the game wouldn't let us start the ceremony.

The eternal bond quest very explicitly tells you how important the Promise of Passion bracelet is, to make sure you don't lose it, always keep it equipped, etc. but there's nothing like this for the blank invitation.

Along with making it more clear how important this item is in the quest/registration process, it should also be mentioned in the item tooltips. The invitation and bracelet should not be discardable unless you cancel the quest directly as well.

No, it's in there. You just didn't really read or pay attention towards every wording.

When they say "Please be warned that only those who possess an invitation may attend a ceremony..." , it also talks about the hosts (which are yourselves), and how they must be in possession of their blank invitations as well.

SE clearly has it in writing this time, you guys just glazed over the reading when you signed up instead of reading everything.

It's unfortunate that you both had to reschedule and yea, it's a pain in the butt to do so, but you should have read everything.

To be fair the tab you highlighted is titled as "Invite Guests" and people don't consider the bride and groom to be guests at their own wedding. Not saying you're wrong, OP should have read the whole tab. Just pointing out the name of it is misleading.

On the website, it says you need 1) a bracelet, 2) a slot in your inventory, and 3)
the invitation. In game, it only tells you you need #1 and #2. The point is they they should be consistent. Because it lists some things you need, that makes it appear that those are all the things you need. If the game hadn't gone to ask those lengths to tell me stuff that I needed to do, then I might think that I should check the EB page.

In order to even sign up for the Eternal Bonding Ceremony, you have to go through the Mogstation...which takes you to the Eternal Bonding ceremony website to apply. You should have read the EB page thoroughly when you were signing up. I'll admit that there should be some consistency between the things in-game and on the website, but this is literally a case where you didn't read everything thoroughly because there's no way to sign up for the EB ceremony without going through the EB page directly. So, yes, we can blame SE for not being consistent, HOWEVER, people need to stop clicking before reading things entirely. It was there.

Be glad this is just a virtual wedding and not a credit card with an annual fee.

I agree, it is a bit misleading and something that should have been made clearer. But, like you said, regardless, OP should have read the whole tab.
