Another interview with Yoshida popped up on Reddit, I thought I'd share here. Due to the lengthily replies, it's complied on a google doc.

I always wondered why the Qiqirin never made it as a beast tribes quest series. Well, hopefully we'll see them in the future.
Regarding the /slap emote, I use it when I play as a healer with people that repeatedly fail to mechanics... << Like "dude, come on, get your s**t together..."
I'm with Yoshida--UwU and UCoB are my favorite fights in this game.
"Q: What is the best and worst raid content for you, Yoshida P/D?
Yoshida P/D: No doubt it’s Alexander: Gordias as my worst raid content. The reason of choice starts back when we received a lot of feedbacks about the Final Coil of Bahamut, previous raid tier, was quite a “friendly” and easy raid across the global server."

"Q: Are the dances that Miqo’te dancers perform in Ul’dah possible to be implemented as player emotes?
Y: Well we can make that without an issue--you’re talking about those dancers in front of the Adventurer Guild, right? Well, if it comes with acceptable price… We will have to check with the development team first because these dance animations were designed at the time to only work with Miqo’te models."
> Acceptable price, 19,99 per character in mog station. Please look forward to it tm.
I'm actually looking forward to the new trial without enmity, I just hope they won't make it too easy.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
*facepalm* Yes indeed,haven't done it yet.
It was released during my break in FF XIV, only came back recently.
Sooo how was the trial? I honestly didn't really looked at any FF XIV info while I was gone but I don't see much talk about it now?

I'd like to see them take all the money they're making from subs, mogdtation and apps and invest it into newer, better servers like WoW did during Cataclysm. You know, instead of putting it towards other games and leaving us in the dust. Then maybe the programmers won't think things are so impossible.
Yeah would be nice if some more of the money FF XIV rakes in was invested into making the game better. Hopefully the FF VII remake is good in the end but I'm really nervous about it at this point and if it bombs they'll have to scrape even more cash out of FF XIV.I'd like to see them take all the money they're making from subs, mogdtation and apps and invest it into newer, better servers like WoW did during Cataclysm. This live letter has me slightly confused. At times he is speaking about v.36 was or certain things will come in v.36 though some of it could be translation errors.
Sounds like a load of shit to me. To simple and easy? That is the entire point and it isn't any different than me pressing 1-2-3 in any given order but at least with it being the same system as the PvP, I don't need to have so many buttons on my hotbars (which I am up to using three now) and clears my screen a bit more. It was meant to help with button bloat and just 'replacing or altering skills rarely used' isn't going to help if we end up getting even more skills and buttons in the next expansion.Q: Can we have PvE skill combos like how PvP chains the skill combos? The number of skills we have to put definitely has been lesser since Stormblood but it feels like more can be done.
Y: If that happens, skill combo would be too simple and easy. Additionally, PvP uses simplified skill combos because we want to pinpoint the players’ focus on broader perspective of battle than using the skills in order. PvE combat environment is a lot different from PvP, where players need room in between combos to respond to various situations in the raids. That’s one of the reasons why we are keeping the the way of skill sets structured.
In other perspective, the development team already saw that the number of skills are reaching the capacity in terms of system limit. Instead of increasing the number of skills, we are planning to replace the skills or alter the skill that are rarely used instead. You won’t expect the number of skills surging back in the near future.
Korean and Chinese versions of the game are a full patch cycle behind us. They're still on 4.2, with 4.3 on the horizon if I recall.
And in doing so defeats the entire purpose behind combos. PvP is significantly faster paced than PvE, thus they wanted to limit the amount of buttons we press. Frankly, it's that restriction which has made PvP utterly boring to a lot of people. Nevertheless, it's a psychological thing. Pressing 1-2-3 may not seem like much, but it gives a sense of movement as you're pressing a different key compared to spamming the same one repeatedly. I, personally, loathe the consolidation system in PvP and am glad they aren't porting it over. I don't want PvE to get any more simplified then it already is. As for new skills and button bloat. No job received more than three new abilities that took another hot bar slot. And all of those skills were covered by the removal of something else. For example sake, let's look at DRG.Sounds like a load of shit to me. To simple and easy? Phlebotomize -> Dragon Sight
Power Surge -> Mirage Dive
Ring of Thorns -> Sonic Thrust
Feint -> Role Action
Keen Flurry - Role Action
Leg Sweep -> Role Action
DRG outright gained three hot bar spots going from Heavensward to Stormblood. Don't be surprised if a lot of abilities simply upgrade from another and they do something similar for 5.0.
