    Dark Knights, Blackest Night and Holy

    I play white mage, a lot. It's my 'main' I guess. But lately I have been grinding 15-20 Burns or Arboretum's a day just to get the tank mounts, cause I'm stupid enough to want them, and bored enough to have the time. But as I play Dark Knight ad nausea 300 times in a row, I got to thinking:

    Do you, deep down, secretly hate us white mages spamming holy when you mass pull 7-10 mobs, and are relying on that proc of Darkest Night to get some energy to Quietus? Or is me relying on that proc to get Quietus and refresh my mp a sign of me being a crap dark knight?

    No. I like it when you use Holy. I like it when you dps. If I miss a proc of something (Blood Price, TBN, etc.) because mobs were stunned, then that's just poor planning on my part. Stuns wear off eventually, and I can use them afterwards. Don't let anyone rebuke you for pushing out more dps on big pulls.

    Deal them damages. If the stunlocks are essential to survival, you might delay them until after CDs. Otherwise, pre-Regen and -DB, stick close so you can be peeled for if the ticks are unfortunately timed, Aero III and spam that Holy til everything's dead while weaving oGCDs.

    I usually start most mob pulls with rampart and convalescence so it's not an issue. However I do get annoyed when WHM's don't throw a dot my way before spamming holy.

    There is one other perspective that requires mentioning: Indiscriminate Holy spam can make enemies stun immune, which means your tank no longer has the ability to stun a baddie who's winding up a large AoE or a party-wide attack. :3

    Yes. Those worms in The Burn and the Roly Poly Bilokos in Arboretum are really annoying for a tank (and melee dps) to run around. I also consider it a problem that dps do not prioritize taking them down - on BLM I try to put an emphasis on damaging them, such as throwing a couple Fire IVs on them before exploding the rest of the mobs with the last UH and remaining mana.

    Then you push the mob with Fluid Aura to cancel the ability yourself. Okay, there are some occasions when that doesn't work, but normally it's not a problem.

    Aye, if your party mates can still dodge the attack, no harm done. I just sometimes find myself saying "Dammit, I can't stun that attack" (because of induced stun immunity) more times than I want to admit. XD

    And you are correct that Fluid Aura does disrupt some of them. Kind of wish I saw more WHMs doing that, though. O.O

    I hate the lack of sinergy WHM and DRK have in that situation and are the only jobs that have that kind of friction on combat, but WHM dps have more benefics there at the cost of our gameplay, thankfully is far less severe compared to heavensward always praying to don't get a WHM in roulette, today I don't care much but still is a bit ugh, but do your job, it's the best for the party after all.

    is Drk better at anything? compared to pld and war? or just worse (and more complicated) in every aspect? (aside of maybe Dark Mind)

    been playing Drk and War a bit again in SB (and Pld in HW a bit), .. while in HW Drk felt like it had its own strengths / merits, in SB Drk just feels weak / has like no real merits
