Thank you for the update nachon22.

I apologize for not getting to your thread sooner. I'd like to get some more information on the issue. It sounds like it happens at all times, not intermittently. Where exactly are you in the game when this happens? Does the frame rate return to normal (or increase at all) if you move to a different area? Does changing the graphics options or using borderless/windowed mode have any affect on the issue?

Does using DirectX 9 change the frame rate at all?

I'd suggest trying a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game. Also make sure that you don't have any unnecessary programs running at the same time.

One other thing I'd suggest is opening the Nvidia Control Panel and going to 'Manage 3D Settings'. From here, select 'Program Settings' and select Final Fantasy XIV. You should see an option to select the GPU. Make sure it's set to your dedicated graphics card (it may be set to 'Auto' by default). Also find the Power Management Options and select 'Prefer High Performance'.

Set the compatibility mode to 'Windows 7' (right click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7)

Additionally, double-check that your laptop is not overheating.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
