When the server merges instead of everyone throwing things up in Ul'Dah wards we move to Limsa or Grid!

Agreed, but I am accounting for the natural fact that there will be very few who actually DO diversify their trade and commerce to outside Ul'dahnian walls. I'll bet that even with a solid effort to marginalize Ul'dah, it will still retain like 85% of all trade.

Historically, it is the sultan who claims sovereignty over Uldah, but true power is wielded by the Syndicate, an elite group of six of the most influential and richest members of society.
