I would like some more heavy armours. Tassets are fine but less of the capes. Give us armour which actually look like it can take the crap we tank, to a point but I think my point is easy to understand

Pretty much, people also greatly exaggerate the frequency of it.
It reminds me of revealing gear too and how some people talk about it as if it's constant and a majority, in reality it's an extremely tiny minority of the gear in the game that is revealing...
Like every single damn time we get a skirt or shorts people throw a tantrum about it and talk about it as if every leg piece is that.
99% of the leg pieces are still pants lol.

It's the same in WoW too people talk about WoW as if it's full of '' plate bikinis '' when in reality it's like three pieces from Vanilla and none has been added since...
If you like it you have an extreme lack of variety to pick from there's a reason why people use the same handful of pieces.
More diversity and variety would actually be adding more of it and it becomes really silly to complain about it especially from the lens of '' omg there's so much of it '' which just isn't true.

People who like the conventionally '' masculine bro '' gear already have almost everything in gaming catered to them already.
And FFXIV has also gone beyond the ARR point that was a bit more '' grounded '' for a lack of a better term.
It's just not what the game is, the gear in the game went in a much more fantasy direction.

The one body gear type that's sorely lacking: Basically anything that won't hide the belt layer of pants. It'd be nice if you could actually use stuff like dalmascan bottoms with more than three options, outside the bikini tops. Just a simple chainmail body armor would be nice at least.

We need to see more like Diablo style armor that the Crusader wears and less of theses trench coat skirts that look less tanky and more spank me.

But I like capes and cloaks? Seriously though, the Paladin EW class armor is frankly the best "tank" armor they have ever made for this game. I also really like the Cryptlurker set combined with Crystarium weapons, you are a little ornate, but you look some someone who is using gear that actually would work in the real world.

As a Dark Knight I agree though, death to these stupid skirts. I am especially tired of them on my class armor...oh wait too late for that one.
