Exactleeh! And Durandal is the strongest Short-Sword in FFXII, where Rabanastre is the capital City ! :3I don't know if the OP noticed, or if someone mentioned this before.
I did some research as soon as I read the new server names, I know some of them ( Excalibur and Masamune) for example but I didn't recognize most of the server names that sounded absurd and hard to pronounce for me when I read it the first time. So I went over to the Final Fantasy wiki to see where those names came from and it turned out to be weapons ( And Aegis being the only shield? ).
After learning that I started looking for connections between the merged servers and the new names that were chosen for them, and about 75% of the time, the weapon is actually used in one ( or both ) of the merged servers, Sargatanas for example being a dagger that Zidane uses in FFIX and one of the merged servers is Lindblum. (A city that exists in the FFIX universe)
Another example would be Hyperion which is a weapon from FFVIII if I'm not mistaken (Didn't seifer use this?), which is the new server that's the result of merging Trabia and Kashuan, and since Hyperion is the name of a weapon used in one of the merged servers (Trabia being from FFVIII where Hyperion is used) it does make sense the reason for choosing these names.
After researching that, the names made more sense to me (And taught me that I really need to replay the Final Fantasy series), and weren't chosen randomly (Or were they?). Hope that I'm correct about this and it helps you "Accept" the new server names.
This is the best thread ever.
Who cares?

I sometimes think B-something has spies in there. So, they posted interesting stuffs to direct public's view toward B-something... like some other thread about 1.20b wasn't a real content...
<3 Durandal tho I finally can pronounce it and remember how to spell it... unlike rab-something...^^:
Deal with it or Transfer
I was probably one of the first people to own this sword in FFXI very effective if abit to common when it was released. If I remember correctly, it was a defensive sword with good VIT stat , which seems to match the history of the sword.
Durendal
Durendal or Durandal (Most likely from French "durer", "to endure";Italian: Durlindana Spanish: Durandal or Durandarte) is the sword of Charlemagne's paladin Roland in the literary cycle known as the Matter of France.
