    Inflation of Stats

My question is plainly: Provided that Level-Cap and Item Level increases will happen with the same pattern as they have so far, will we eventually run into a situation where this will be problematic?

If the question to that answer is [Yes], then:

    - What will the problem we will run into be?
    - When do you think will the increase in stats be problematic?
    - What could be countermeasures?

WoW did a stat squish recently because the numbers just got ridiculous. I could easily see that happening here eventually.

The devs have made an effort to rebalance stats before, and im sure they will continue to do so. When SB launched(i started playing after HW launched, so i dont know if they did the same thing then) the weights and scales of the secondary stats were adjusted to account for stat-inflation. Theres nothing to stop them from doing the same again.

As above, if things get out of hand, stat-squish would be the go-to. The worst that will happen in the meantime is over-gearing causing content (typically levelling / low-tier content) to get annihilated faster than it already does. In most cases that'll simply lead to phases being skipped or damage intake being negligible outside of specific mechanics.

There's already have a system in place that scales stats (substats, defence values, block rate/str. Not main stats though) to a hidden level modifier which quells, and to some extend "resets" them at expansion launches, which I think keeps stats from blowing up too much quite well. If you look at for example tanks final stats (dps & hp) at the end of each expansion, those values don't grow all that much compared to other MMOs.

Stat squish may come one day but it's most likely not next expansion or the one after.

Stat squish may come eventually, but while FF XIV has a similar tiered loot structure to WoW, the numbers don't seem to rise as quickly in FF XIV.

We're what, 120 ilvls above where we were in 3.4?

Part of it I think is that FF XIV has less difficulties. WoW has to have progression both from tier 1 to tier 2, but also between its four raid difficulties. FF XIV has story mode and savage/ex only, which I think probably helps to keep things in check.

Stuff's kept linearly so far which is fine. We've seen bosses do hundreds of thousands or millions of damage so it's not a case that the engine can't handle it. But as was said, WoW is power scaling far faster with regards to the stats so stat squishes were required for their engine. While SE balances stats already per expansion, they also seem to make sure that things aren't getting out of control either. I don't think we'll need any stat rebuilds for as was said, at least two or so expansions still.

They have done it multiple times and levelling is stupid now.
Good thing nobody in WoW plays the game and just buys jump potions so it's a moot issue.
