Why are you hating on the Balmung? The legendary irish (not 100% sure on that) hill-splitter. Quite literally, it's what Balmung means, hill-splitter. I'm not 100% sure but I do believe that the legend of Balmung is related to that of the Excalibur.
Mind, i'm no good at mithology, so I might be wrong

I actually think it was Norse, carried by Siegfried. Still a lame nameWhy are you hating on the Balmung? The legendary irish (not 100% sure on that) hill-splitter. O ya completly my opinion, can hardly say that some people who love .hack or a Norse buff wouldn't enjoy the name. But as this is a Final Fantasy game and there are servers like Ragnorak and Masamune on a greater scale it will be probably less liked.

Well Balmung has been in several Final Fantasy games so I honestly think most people will be fine with it. I like most of the server names and am fine with the rest. Im on Gungnir now which in my opinion is a pretty cool name although kinda hard to pronounce haha.
Balmung great sword drop from Fafnir in FFXI: I think your wiki info is correct also:PWhy are you hating on the Balmung? The legendary irish (not 100% sure on that) hill-splitter. Let the server name complaints begin!
