Well you said what I was going to. There will always be people complaining. Fwiw I don't think dyability should be savage exclusive but rather a more complete version of the antiquated/prototype raid gear.

They did add the dyable Coil gear that needed mats from Coil but that's about it.
I have no problem with dyable raid gear being savage.
What I DO wish they'd add is a means of getting non dyable raid weapons. I love the Omnicron set from the Omega raids, but while I can get the full set for glamour from normal raids, I sadly can't get a sword and shield to go with it unless I start doing savage.
Maybe add something to the loot tables for normal mode story primals too because it just feels weird having no reason to go back to them ever outside of trial roulette.

There’s a good chance (100%) that the gear models will be reused for crafted gear sometime in the next expansion.
I mean, what else would they do, make new gear?!
To be fair they've yet to reuse raid gear models--although they have used the Relic Brave models again so I guess who knows.
Yes, because original Coil gear wasnt dyeable - they didnt "reuse" it in the sense of recycling it (as they do with dungeon gear that gets reused as crafted gear in the next expansion), but added the dyeable Coil-gear because it was requested. I kinda of recall them making a statment about them saying that adding it as crafted gear was the easiest way to do that.
With the raid-gear from HW and SB, we have a dyeable version in the game already - I wouldnt hold my breath for them reusing those sets.

I kinda doubt anyone is actually doing savage for the dyeable gear that otherwise would not. Although if the gear from normal was dyeable then we'd have the opposite topic where people complain about the better gear having the same appearance. Maybe at best we could have them dye differently, like the different tiers of wedding outfits.
I am doing it for the challenge and because the gear is dyable. Most of my motivation for doing Creator for instance, was that sweet sweet Alexandrian Coat of Fending...
Edit: Remember that glamour is the real endgame, so...

Minion, mounts & dye-able gear need to stay in EX & Savage.
I'd even go a step further and remove tome stone weapons, letting them only drop in EX & Savage and make the craft version 10 ilvls lower at each tier but I can already seeing people would want my head even though you don't need max ilvl if you don't do Savage or Ultimate.
I'd even make it so that to get the highest artifact lvl (upgrade) you'd need an item that drops from that tier final boss in Savage but people would shoot me on sight then.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
