    To be perfectly blunt, desperation is not attractive to anyone except psychos looking for someone to manipulate. Trust me on that one. Focus on making yourself happy and fulfilled without needing to rely on another person, any other person, to do it for you. Actively looking for a romantic relationship is a good way to A) turn other people away because you "came on too strong" or similar and B) land yourself in a really bad one because some really awful people see that as an opportunity to control you.

    Make yourself happy. Then you can go looking for someone to share that happiness with, rather than searching for someone to make you happy.
