FFXV DLC take up install space for FFXIV (Follow-Up).

    Last thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...pace-for-FFXIV.

I described my matter to the PlayStation support and I even sent screenshots so they could see the problem first-hand. This is the email I got.

There's really no solution to this?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We did have this issue before and have since implemented some resolutions. I know you've already tried reinstalling the games, but can you try it one more time. Completely uninstall both, then reinstall XIV. You may have tried it before we had a potential fix in place. Did Playstation support have you try anything else? Or did they simply send you to us?

We'll see what we can do on our end but the issue is with the installation on your PS4, which isn't an ecosystem we have any control over. Please keep us updated on that reinstallation.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    1. Both games uninstalled. I go to the FFXIV game page in the PS4 Library.
    2. FFXV DLC still appear as Add-Ons for FFXIV. I press on Download....

    3. I get the option to download DLC for FFXIV. Heavensward and FFXV DLC is listed. I only press on Heavensward and proceeds to download.

    4. Install size for FFXIV is 35GB as it should be.

Side note: FFXIV avatars and themes appears on FFXV's game page.

    5. Through the FFXV game page I press on Download. I pause the download for the main game and only let Episode Ignis and Episode Gladiolus download and install to test if the problem persists.

    6. Ignis and Gladiolus installed and FFXIV's size is increased to 42,7 GB

    7. I stop the download for the main FFXV game and delete it. The PS4 OS says that the game and DLC will be deleted but Ignis and Gladiolus still remain as installed in the "Installed add-on" list for FFXIV

    (Quite a dilemma, huh?)

Thank you for the detailed update OskarXCI.

There is one thing I forgot to ask in my last post. When it incorrectly categorizes the DLC, does it double the amount of space it takes up on the hard drive? Final Fantasy XV should take up 92GB and XIV should take up 35GB. Does the total for both of those ad up to 127GB on your hard drive? In other words, are the totals for each the correct number or is it taking up significantly more space?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

When every piece of DLC that I could download were installed, the sizes for the games were 96GB for FFXV and 56GB for FFXIV for a total of 152GB. Yes, the amount of space that the DLC occupies is doubled since they get added to the install size of both games. This include the 1.7GB of the Heavensward DLC that gets added to FFXV's install size.

I don't know if this matters but I was one of those that upgraded from PS3 to PS4. Maybe I'm using a different client from those that bought the PS4 version and started playing on a PS4.

    Hello,

Same here, as you can see in this topic:

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...74#post4802874

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ter-PS4-Update

I am also a player that upgraded from PS3 to PS4.

So basically, every single FFXV DLC is also added to FFXIV, and every single FFXIV DLC/Theme/Avatar is also added to FFXV.
I do not own a FFXV Theme to see if it appears on FFXIV Page.

This is unacceptable. Work with SONY and FFXV Development team, and classify the 2 games seperately please. Then issue a small update for FFXIV and FFXV to remove the unecessary DLC from each game. I cannot re-download FFXIV for the 4th time this year because of your screw ups, and ESPECIALLY the 90+ GB FFXV. My Data Cap does not allow for more.

    Waiting for a fix.
