It is incredibly odd to me that they did this change four years after the fact, as they released Stormblood. I don't buy it was because of complaints. There's a different reason.
This kinda points something out.

Now I didn't play on 2.0, but from what I heard, there originally was no MS roulette. And what happened because there was no roulette was new players got completely stuck. People did not want to run that place after the first time, ever. The roulette was put in place to give people a reason to go back, so players could actually do story without having a 2 hour wait time as tank.

So this is part of the issue with the "force cutscene" change. This caused some people to not want to do the roulette. The point of the roulette is to get people into the dungeon. kinda beats the point to make a change to it that made some players not want to go in there.

And as for "But it was skip cutscenes or miss fight", this is NOT even the first dungeon to put a longer cutscene. Sure, this is the severe case, but let's go back to Thousand maws. You know, the 24 dungeon? Ya, you can kill the last boss before the newbie gets to finish the story cutscene. So we gonna force that one too?
