I still don't think Fordola's character arc was conclusively resolved, and feel a lot of Gyr Abania was underutilized.

I'm happy with how its story played out, though... I guess.

Honestly, it's just the scale of the "main city" to its environs and the other city-states' main cities, none of which were considered to be dwarfed by Ala Mhigo proper, that most peeves me.

Fordola isn't wrapped up, but neither is the story. Either the immediate patch series, or the vast multi-expansion story that is going to be FFXIV as a whole.

I think people are forgetting that. We're not yet at the end of the story where we can be asking "why didn't they return to plot point X?" - we're still halfway through. Fordola might be back in the next chapter. She might be absent until halfway through the next expansion plot. Whatever and whenever it is, I'm quite sure she's being put into position to do something later.

However, the side story gives a chance to keep her story running, even without a place to insert it into the current MSQ.

The reason was snow. Ishgard is covered in snow so they would have to either fin a spot without snow or recreate every assets to take that into account

Snow is exactly the reason to have Ishgard Housing, though... We already had a coastal Housing zone with the Mist, Shirogane is just Asian Mist, ultimately fairly redundant in my eyes. There's huge demand for a winter based Housing area though, people want that. Only thing they really need to do is change the floor of the outdoor area to be snowy, they don't need to slap snow ontop of every piece of garden furniture. Honestly though they've needed to change the floors of the outside parts for a while, the "Lawn" should be something you can customise, just like the roof or walls.

I hope its a teaser of things to come tbh. It's nice to know that something like Ifrit is still an issue, it would be nice if we could actually see that in game. When was the last time we saw the old Primals again? Garuda and Titan during the Warriors of Darkness plotline I guess? I'd love to have some content that retreads those old Primals and having Fordola along for the ride could make for an interesting story. Not necessarily talking about something like Leviathan (Savage), but if I say somethingsomethingHamletDefense one more time people will probably get annoyed.

That story also didn't strike me as a conclusion to Fordolas story. She wasn't considerably evil enough that I'd say we aught to leave her with an uncontrollable Echo power that is basically torture at the moment... The Resonant plotline could still go places and Fordola is the only thread we have to tug on for that, at least if El'Zenos has run off never to be seen by us again.

Neither Fordola's nor resonant's stories are concluded. While the way it was applied was horrifying, the possibility of copiying the echo could be interesting and it's worth studying.
Besides that side story also confirms that SMNs are used in the GC canonically as such it wouldn't hurt allowing us to make our squadron SMNs too.

I also believe that from what we've seen from 4.4, things are looking grim for Ala mhigo idd, it might end up with a nuking truly

The summoner job story in 4.0 also had summoners. Specifically in the Flames granted but it's not much of a stretch to imagine from there the other GCs would consider it as well.

Now if SE would ease things up on black mages and white mages in 5.0 i'd be happy.

To be exact, the job story didn’t just have “summoners”, it had the same group of summoners prior to their appearance in the side story.

the way the game is going, around 4.5 Garlemald will probably nuke Ala Mhigo and destroy it anyway.
Makes sense
1) there is no hub there
2) Doma will probably continue to grow into 5.0

This is actually what I've been thinking could happen, given the direction recent story patches have taken us. I mentioned before yesterday on a separate thread that it's very likely something may befall Ala Mhigo that will prevent us from seeing the city proper aside from the dungeon we've already been through. I have my ideas for how it could play out, but there's every possibility that things will actually turn out very different. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

What I mean is that I want the ability of making my squadron SMNs, I know it's pointless but some fluff would not be bad to the system
