So umm...let's talk about being a Lalafell for a second

What keeps me from playing a lalafell is how giant their height gets at max height. It's bigger than a max height male roe's head. Changing height in this game doesn't happen naturally by adding or removing height via limbs/torso/etc, it scales the entire character bigger/smaller instead.

Yeah, and hta becomes noticeable particularly next to other character models and NPCs. Its a touch weird.

My EB played a lala for a looooooong time. They initially picked it after they saw how ridiculously cute the DRG af1 set looked in the character creation screen and pretty much every glamour looked hilarious shrunken down to their size. imo, going shirtless as a lala isn't all that scandalous when they have the bodyshape of a traffic cone with chubby limbs attached :P

I’m generalising, of course. But they’re undeniably the darker of the two clan designs, and if someone is trying to make a “scary-looking” character they’re almost certainly going to go for Xaela with the dark scales and unusual eyes.

It seems the likely reason for the huge difference between the number of Raen and Xaela males, if I’m reading the graph right.

In addition to the scary/edgy/dark look, the almost-black Xaela scales are easy to work with and the eyes are unique....while male Raen scales are an odd color that looks strange with a good amount of their skin tone range and you can only see their blue tongues if you look closely at their face when using certain emotes. I think they would have been more popular if they had true white or even gold scales instead of the tannish color they got.

Also, I've never had anyone be gross to me yet. I get a lot of hugs and jokes and random tells saying that Lalafell are the best but aside from that I've been pretty blessed.

Don't get me wrong my experience as a lala was mostly a positive one with lots of people saying my lala is adorable xD.It's just those few cases when I went shirtless stood out a bit

Funny the perceived Lala=children thing, while it's canon that the Padjal are perpetual teenagers who can barely pass as adults after their aging has stopped. Lala relationships have been established in the game's lore, with marriage, children, and the whole nine yards deducing that sexual relationships take place among them. But nope. Totally wrong for a Lala to bare their breeches.

...indeed they do. Although it seems to be the entire inside of the mouth, not just the tongue. (And looks more purple than blue to me, but that may vary depending on the screen and/or viewer.)


And funny you say that the scales should have been gold... for my alt character, I think his scales tone in really nicely with the pale gold decorations on things like the Thavnairian set. Maybe the apparent colour of the scales varies a lot with skin colour. (I used the sort of beige skintones in the top row of the 'green' section.)

I dont have anything against raen i still swap between the two
Just (male) xaela horns are a much nicer contrast and can match gear easier

Raen scales should have been white or bone white like the dye
not that cardboard light brown
