Could be any of these things or more preventing someone from performing well. and to be fair most of the time I find it is.
1) should just speak up, I might have tips that makes stuff easier.
2) and 3) surely lower performance but it does not make you "run failing" or "no DPS to speak of" kind of bad.

If you completely reword your key mappings, stay out of savage/ex until you get used to it. Dungeons shouldn't be a problem though.

Most people cannot deal with critique, be it IRL or in a video game. That being said: only telling them that they are bad is not helpful. If you spot them making critical mistakes, provide a solution alongside with the critical remark. Way more helpful. They will still bitch and be pissed that you dared to critique Gods gift to gaming but they cannot accuse you of flaming if you criticize constructively.
