    3. Are they having a bad day or are they feeling sick?
I'm of the opinion that if you are sick enough or miserable enough for it to effect your gameplay that much then you shouldn't be playing at all. If you decide to ignore it and continue anyway, the "I'm not feeling well" card can hardly be used to beat off criticism if you're playing like road-kill when it is you putting yourself in that position to begin with.

    2. Did they recently change their UI/Binds or both?
This is something you do on your own time, not other people's. On those (extremely rare) occasions I rearrange my keybinds or abilities, I certainly don't wade immediately into max-level content without adapting to them first. That in itself is being bad, as well as being an ass.

    1. Are they a new player?
There is nothing wrong with being new. However, the "I'm new" card only goes so far. If you're pre max-level content then it should be expected that various people in the group is likely still levelling or grinding. However, if you're entering EXPERT roulette dungeons or the present tier of normal raids, it is expected by this point that you at least have half an idea of what you're doing - all that is left is to learn mechanics and/or bring your gear up to speed. If you are entering extremes or savages then god help you if you aren't even knowledgeable of your class, never mind the content.

There's an saying that goes something like 'my right to swing my fist ends at the other man's nose' I like to translate to things like this.

Yes, you pay your own sub, you 'can' play however you like. But when 'playing how you want' translates to negatively impacting the group, you lose that right. Whether that means you're causing wipes directly or just not pulling your weight. You have a right to play how you want. You do not have a right to only do single target dps in a dungeon where the rest of the group is doing big pulls and aoeing. You do not have a right to play 'frost mage' though I don't think I've ever actually seen one of these in person. You do not have a right to put no effort into avoiding aoes or obeying mechanics. You can do these things but if you do, people are justified when they get frustrated with you or vote kick you from the duty.

I don't demand perfection. I'm not a perfect player either. I make mistakes. But I also try to learn from them. If I find out I'm not doing the rotation right on a job, I try to improve. If I find out I'm doing a mechanic wrong, I try to fix that.

That said, this doesn't mean the first recourse should be calling someone bad or yelling at them. Try offering friendly, constructive advice first. But if said advice is ignored or they get definsive, that goes out the window.

My response to people who have used this to defend their actions ("I pay my sub") is simply: "So does everyone else". In short, it is one of the most nonsensical defences anyone can use when trying to justify any action, however good or bad it is. You pay yours? Great. So do I, so why do I have to suffer you if you're playing like an arthritic snail mashing a keyboard? Do what you want in the open world where you aren't effecting anyone, but in group content (where EVERYONE is paying their subscription), you lose the right to use it to defend poor play or idiocy, because everyone is now effecting everyone else's 'sub'.

Boggles my mind how many people I've seen posting "I pay my sub", and who genuinely believe it actually means something.

One thing I notice here is that the OP is very likely referring to a slip up or two or a single mistake from being tired/lack of focus/things on their mind, which happens to all of us even in Savage statics. You get those days from time to time. The player in question still wants to do their best.

The community seems to be referring to a player making constant mistakes, wiping groups and refusing to take advice or have any desire to improve because they're "playing their way" or "playing for fun" which is something entirely different.

The community, under this assumption now aggressively attacks the OP stating they should get the heck out of groups in their situation and stop wasting other players time. This gives the impression to those of us who are normal players intending to do their best that the community is hyper perfectionist and "elitist" when the community likely doesn't intend that. The community gives me that impression even more than WoW a lot of the time.

Ease up guys, you're on a crusade against something entirely different. People slipping up or losing focus a moment will happen in the best of groups. Don't automatically assume that player is an idiot who doesn't care until they prove themselves to be through their attitide. It's a simple request.

This is all gold. I actually can't even.
The level of delusion in all this is likely going to rip a hole in reality.

gg. I'm impressed by the level of skill of your mental gymnastics.

Summarized the rest of this individual's quotes for everyone else: illogical.

I am 100% sure that the kind of behaviours that are witnessed through general incidents are completely unacceptable IRL, so why act so high and mighty on a video game?

If someone plays bad (by your own personal definition), leave them alone. You're unlikely to see them ever again after the 18-23m run of a random duty YOU chose to run without your friends.

There's simply no excuse for bullying someone because they don't meet over inflated standards.

You know what? It's not even the bad play discussion in this thread that annoys me the most.

It's that somehow, I have to make the assumption that the person has a bad UI or is sick. Being new has its context so that's up to the situation.

But holy smokes, if I have to make a million and one assumptions about a guy who no-combo butcher's block his way into 70 content, I'm not gonna get anywhere.
