And... why? O_o
A lot of us who choose to play Miqo'te and Au Ra have come to terms with clipping and pretty much have stopped paying all that much attention to it at this point.
Then play a race that has no tail...god why do people make threads over the most pettiest things smh.
I'd rather they make their gear with tails in mind than having an option to hide them.
Also, while we're at it, there is so many equipment that clips with hands. If we hide tails, then we should also hide hands because hands completely dissapearing in my gear is much more noticeable than a part of my tail clipping through a cape.
We could also get an option to hide hair, because hair actually clips the most. As soon as we all put on something that could potentially clip, we're all bald! /s
Only if we get an option to hide painted male characters in pink with flower accessories. But that would be discrimination. That stereotype is getting really, really old, though. But I suppose YOU want to play as that kind of character. While I want to play as an Au Ra. Truth is, I don't give a damn about what characters others play. But I'm getting really tired of the people ranting about the existence of Miqo'te and Au Ra. Let people play what they want. Why even play a JRPG when people hate the anime-like races so much that they have to say it every time they get the chance to?
I'd be all for it honestly, it bugged me too when I played miqo, mostly cause I like to wear capes and the tail made it pretty difficult, it'd also be nice to see capes sorta split for miqo to let their tails through more naturally.
Either way no reason why something like this couldn't exist as an option, especially in the same way the gauss barrel toggle works, purists get to keep their racial identity and people who wanna beat a little bit of clipping get to enjoy not having to see it.
We're talking about the game company that also needs to put 15 different limitations to every new thing in the game because otherwise it'll apparently make the servers implode.
Dresser's a nice example. They already said the reason that isn't able to apply glam everywhere is because of server stress. Yes. You can't do that because the servers can't handle you using it everywhere.
Coming from Wow, where you can transmog everywhere in the game (via your mount, if not another way), that makes no sense unless they did something wrong. If they did something wrong, they should fix THAT.
If I remember correctly, in Wow it is just a basic part of your character (everything you already have, to mog.)
So the only way it would make sense in FFXIV, that it cause more server stress, if instead such information is stored somewhere else and it is sending it back and forth. That would be a very silly, fundamentally incorrect way to do it.
I think capes should auto-hide your tail, mostly because a tail poking through a cape makes zero sense.
You can't even head canon it away as cutting a hole there because no one would do that.
Other than that, no. Unless it's a gauss barrel style /hidetail option that only works client side.
Cool,OP.
How about "hide neck" for Elezen as well ?
I didn't tell people to stop playing Miqo'te or Au Ra. I just said I'd like the option to hide them.Truth is, I don't give a damn about what characters others play. If we are on the wishing list of hiding things, can we hide the play button or make it a puzzle?
Since clearly everything else is fixed, there are no connection issues and other non important stuff for the dev team to focus on.
Oh and make to be the default state, just to be sure.
