I am in huge favour of this... either that or the Devs implement a dialogue box that lets the whole party view who has rolled and who hasn't, just like in FFXI.
Weird... I was just posting about that earlier.

Only if you still get a chance to roll if you're the only person left in the dungeon/timer hasn't run out. Ppl in roulettes will frequently ditch as soon as the exit appears and if you haven't had a chance to [watch cutscenes/compare loot/check inv] and haven't rolled since then I don't want to just lose it.

Only if someone has actively rolled for it.
If everyone passes (or leaves the dungeon) except one person who didn’t roll, that person gets it when either the timer is up, or they’re the only person left in there. Which is fair for the most part - eg. three people dash for the exit as soon as the boss is dead, and the last person is left holding the loot.
Presumably anyone trying to ‘wait it out’ so people leave will roll on it at the last minute.

I typically make a sarcastic remark like, "Whelp. Time to watch Youtube." And that usually gets people to roll. Basically, call their bluff outright but don't come across annoyed or they may stick it out thinking you'll be annoyed enough to leave. Doing /sit also helps as that pretty much announces you'll wait out the five minutes.

If people have to afk suddenly, it's fine. RL takes priority over any game. I also understand why people do this purposely, because it DOES increase one's chances if people are impatient. It's still a jerk move though and a waste of other peoples' time. If it's something I want and I rolled decently I will wait out the timer. If I rolled in the 10s or 20s I will typically just leave before this becomes a problem.

just do /sit and /random untill someone rolls, (not spam the random though) i do that when in 24mans and people just stand there and wait for countdown after noticing people sitting or dancing around the exit usually they roll

Part of the problem is that the current system in raids encourages people to not roll. I.e., there are four pieces dropped in 012N and each person can only win one for the week. Rolling on the two cranks and the spring you don't want while holding off on rolling for the shaft you do want has a chance of decreasing your competition--if three party members win the two cranks and the spring you didn't want, that's three less people whose rolls you have to compete against for the shaft. Given that you don't roll against yourself, your chances just went from ~one against seven to now ~one against four. The system can, in some cases, deliberately reward not rolling.
I try not to do or think about it this way, but you can bet after the 13th (14th, 15th...) time in a row of doing a fight with no drop, I start to reconsider clicking that roll button right away...
I'd wager this is the problem. Normal mode raids are the only content where I run into this. Another scenario is someone wants a spring, but will accept other pieces if they don't win the spring. They will wait and see if they win the spring before rolling on the other pieces. They need to make it so if you win more than 1 roll, you get the piece you rolled on first. Or they could just eliminate weekly lockout on normal mode raids, it's kind of pointless anyway. They should rework the entire normal raid loot system, but that's probably never going to happen.Part of the problem is that the current system in raids encourages people to not roll. I remember someone not rolling because they were being a poor sport. The character would taunt the players left behind. Refusing to roll on an item. I could of reported him or her with the evidence in chat, but it’s interesting to observe people’s behavior.
