Allow us to change class!

SE could you please, allow us to change class mid dungeon, when someone disconnects, and we're out of combat?!

It's annoying, that some tanks, find themself entitled to do a shitty job, and get pissed, when everyone else, is trying to help them do better.

Especially because the party is doomed to fail, due to the absurd long waiting times, to get a new tank. And i believe, that if someone in the party, is willing to change class, in order to complete the dungeon, they should be allowed to do so, without leaving the current party, as long a member is missing for a light party, and we're out of combat, i can't see a problem with changing classes, to adjust to the new party setup, once someone leaves.

I can understand this request. The problem.with doing that is how it'd impact the duty finder system. It'd essentially have to completely reset if someone changed jobs.

Generally if you want to fill the tank spot
Easily do it by just leaving swapping to tank and reque witj join in progress setting
Works 9/10 even in roulettes

If they gave it the open world instance treatment (like Eureka or Diadem) where you can change outside of combat then yes in theory is possible, but the duties via the Finder have been coded in a way to prevent switching whilst inside. I wouldnt mind if it allowed players to switch between anything within the same role i.e. PLD to DRK, WHM to SCH etc but not to something outside of those, so a tank couldn't switch to DPS. Otherwise tanks could just bypass queues (as it's quick for them) and switch to a non tank on entry in to the duty.

Well, someone would have to tank.

Someone that tries to *cheat* by queuing as tank then swapping to DPS demanding someone else swap to compensate, is going to get kicked. You could introduce a limit of "only allow swapping when the party is less than full".

Being able to freely switch between roles would be fantastic: if you get into a trial and someone else picked the same tank, can just alt over immediately instead of feeling bad about the overlapping SiO, or lack thereof.

Perhaps with a vote system after a player has left? The rest of the group can vote yes or no to the player who wants to change, but only after a spot needs to be filled. If the vote is no then they wait for a new player.
