I would say im loyal to the game and the company, as I enjoy most SE games (not including eidos, as they are often not my type of game). If it was named a different name I would still have gone for it as it was made by SE and after enjoying xi for so many years, I wouldn't want to miss on there next one.

Game, i am tired to test lots of MMO and FFXI and FFXIV have a different aura, they are totally diferent. And sure, i come coz the name, but because the name means is a different MMO.

Bit of both I think, when I first picked it up I had just been playing other Final Fantasy games, saw it going cheap and decided that it was worth a go - if it was called 'Defenders of Eorzea' or something similar I would likely not looked at it twice, particularly after such a poor reception on launch.

That said if they changed the name now to something of the like I would be confused as to why but keep playing, I've dabbled with other MMOs since picking XIV up but at the end of the day they all have the same problem; they're not Final Fantasy XIV.

If it wasn't called Final Fantasy I would have passed. I play FFXIV because of the great game it is and even though we need to wait for things from SE sometimes atleast we get it unlike most other games.

I believe....that I'm loyal to the name. If I were limited to one company, I'd nominally choose Square-but I'm pretty loyal to the game as well. I stuck with FFXI for years, and loved it. FFXIV is gorgeous, and has tremedous promise; enough to hold out for more.

when FFXIV got first announced i was happy to hear about a new MMO in the FF series and was expecting a game of the same or better quality as FFXI.
as i don't enjoy most of the mmo's currently on the market, be it foreign,f2p or p2p, and also not looking forward to any mmo's in this case (besides PSO2) i'm still with FFXIV even tho i don't enjoy it as much as i wish to.

the name and 2.0 are my biggest reasons that i'm still with the game, but if 2.0 proves to be another flop i'd probably never look back to the game.

Actually this is a better answer, I feel guilty if I don't log in for a week because I'm doing other things - if I'm not logged in my poor Miq'ote is stuck in an existential dead zone, existing only as a collection of magnetic data in a basement somewhere in one of SE server farms.
