Indeed, why does the JP region have 3 datacenters, the Americas has 2 and the entirety of the EU has just 1...Now would be a brilliant time for Square to start working on a second EU server if they haven't already. It's ALWAYS Chaos! Considering how many people play this game in the EU, you'd think they'd put more effort into taking good care of it. The EU is large enough to warrant a second server, especially if NA can have two!
But whatever, we shouldn't be sitting at the login screen for hours trying to login, its not good enough and needs attention!

Completely unacceptable for the EU servers to become unplayable this often.

Me and my freinds have been having trouble for the last couple of days (tonight being the worst) - this is no fun at all. Kicked out 4 times and now sitting here stuck in and out of the loading screen for the data center.
roses are red, alphascape spreads terror,
lobby server connection has encountered an error.
Hello everyone and thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the upstream ISP. I do not have an ETA on when it will be fixed unfortunately. For further information, please see this Lodestone post: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...e26d20e7655e3a
We apologize for the trouble and inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
Happened to me a couple of times over the past two weeks but today I have been unable to play for the past two hours. Ruined the world of darkness raid as half the raid dc and now I am halfway through a cutscene and cannot log in. GIVE US A SECOND DATA CENTRE GODS SAKE

And what exactly will us a 2nd Datacenter do good other than "now only half of the european players wont be able to play if one crashes"?Happened to me a couple of times over the past two weeks but today I have been unable to play for the past two hours. Ruined the world of darkness raid as half the raid dc and now I am halfway through a cutscene and cannot log in. GIVE US A SECOND DATA CENTRE GODS SAKE
North America simply being a continent as large as it is warrants two datacenters being necessary to accomodate US and Canadian players accross the countries.
Japan having three of them might simply be because of the sheer amount of players playing it in comparison to NA and EU. Another reason might be easier management for being practically local.
Neither is Europe too big based on landmass nor does it have as many players where an extra DC would prevent prolonged player congestion.
What you ACTUALLY want is a datacenter being practically lagfree, bugfree and DOS-proof.
Same here on Moogle. Started at about 6 p.m.(ish) and keeps dc'ing me every 30 secs - 2 mins. Tried 2 different PCs in case one of them started having issues with anything. But since one's running Win7/64 (wired) and the other Win10/64 (on Wi-Fi) were getting the same results, I tried to connect via my phones mobile connection (which worked great in the past) but to no avail.
I'd rather not have a second datacenter like chaos, cause it'll increase duty finders queues even more.
Moving Chaos would be even more dumb since it's already in one of 7 major datacenters in Frankfurt.
The highest chance of them being the DE-CIX7. (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DE-CIX)
Cause it's the one closest to KDDI Germany (who's the one providing the ip-adresses for Chaos).
Somebody with enough time should drive there and knock really hard on the door to wake them again. They've probably just fallen asleep
(I would do it myself but I have to go to work today xD)
Hello everyone.
The network issues preventing accessibility to the Data Center has been resolved. For further information, please see this Lodestone post: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...3b80dbc3d07989
