Devs, what are you guys expecting from the Feast, really?

After trying to compete every season, I get the feeling that queuing with randoms is pointless. You can't expect them to do good, you can't expect them to coordinate the new burst quick chat is more cancerous than helpful most of the cases.

If you want people to coordinate, you should either get everyone a macro that does burst combos automatically to simplify EVEN FURTHER the game mechanics.

"Oh, but its just the first day you'd say" -- This is not OK.

The "pro 100s" will always be the ones that get higher faster and then stop playing entirely because they're safe there.

Once people leave Silver, the queues are dead (est. 3 days)

I just can't do this anymore. I try... I do. But this is way too frustrating to keep insisting in this broken mode that YOU refuse to fix.

Stop trying to make this an e-sport, it will never happen the way this mode is heading.

You are the only consistent factor in your matches. That means if you're really good, it doesn't matter who you get paired up with, you will climb anyway. Some matches are unwinnable, but as long as you understand that feast is a long term goal and a string of losses does not matter in the long run, you can do it.

How do you think a lot of the old players did it, and keep doing it even now? Everyone has to deal with random teammates, not just you.

I'm currently sitting at 40% win ratio, the problem is that a string of losses WILL matter if everyone else climbs and leave the matchmaking range, leaving you out of matches.

You dont have to play Feast if you dont enjoy it stay with Frontlines or do PVE stuff instead of making pointless threads like this none cares if you give up on Feast or not.

I'm sorry, you don't need to act with ignorance, I've been there and can assure you that personal experiences matter and the "If you don't like it, don't play it." mentality isn't healthy for the game.
My point is, I don't like the Feast the way it is now, but do want the top 100 reward. Frontlines is a bit worse than the Feast because you can't control the number of roles each team has, but that's a topic for another thread and I'm already doing my PvE stuff weekly.

I used to play drk without problem since season 5, i switched ninja last season, and i can tell how much i am awfull with it and still hit top100 np just because i keep to play.
Sorry to tell you that but its more a matter of patience, even good players have to deal with new guys that can't play yet and don't coordinate, as well we feel its a bit frustrating but it don't stop us.

I think too much of the Feast is centered around trying to climb despite who you're paired with. And despite all the changes they made recently to make matches go faster and help people get more kills, healing is still ultimately the deciding factor. Feast has always felt like tying your arms and legs and telling you to swim. I like the challenge and I like PVP in general and improving, but it really feels like FFXIV PVP is one big experiment with no real idea of where it wants to go or what it wants to be.

Also, telling people "if you don't like it, don't play it" is the one thing Feast *doesn't* need right now. We need more people to play and be involved in it but I don't blame those who feel like Feast, at the moment, is like biting into a rotten apple and saying "please sir, may I have some more?"

if you want to get srs at Feast you're gonna have to take time off and spam it nonstop so that you can climb out of low ranked hell ASAP. That's pretty much what everyone else does so that they don't get stuck there.

If Feast rewards weren't so ugly and completely random I might actually try to get past Gold for once. I hate Feast for what it is and I only play it for the weekly challenge logs. Other than that, it can be completely ignored and literally not missed. Only reason to PvP at all these days is just for tomes and the one or two extra items they add to the Wolf Mark vendor every 3 and 1/2 months.

SB PvP changes were bad, but then they removed the Feast maps from Feast and put in the horrible Crystal Tower map with moogles, Alpha, sunshine and balloons. Feast doesn't even have its identity anymore. It's just a mini-game that quite frankly, can have it's name changed to "Adventurer Sparring" or something. It's a huge turn off.
