    How long till gear design contest winner outfits make into the game?

    I really liked the melee gear that won the content. Didn't it take the last gear design winner stuff forever to be implemented?

    It apparently takes about six months to design/code armor. We probably won't see it until the 5.X series.

    The Lost Allagan tank set was revealed in August 2016 and was implemented into the game in July 2017 so it could be quite a while...

    On the other hand, the healer design was announced in April 2017 and was put into the game in October of the same year, but considering the timeframe of the new ones (announced at the start of patch 4.4) is closer to the tank's (end of patch 3.3) I think it's safe to say we'll have to wait until 5.0 to wear them ourselves.

    I wouldn't expect them until 5.0 or beyond.

    Unless the winners were actually chosen a good while back and only announced recently, I don't think they would have time to get into 4.5. And we probably won't see a 4.6. I'm not sure what the deadline was for the contest entries so this may not even be feasible as a longshot hope. I would guess that 5.0 will have one for one of the tome sets and then the 5.1 dungeons will have the other.

    Plus breaks on said design if they prioritize other content.

    People also misunderstanding what the coding actually entails. They have to make sure it works in every dungeon, quest, instance, raid, etc.
