    There hasn't been a single Critical Hit/Spell Speed hat since 4.0

    NOTE: To clarify, I meant Caster hat.

    That's right. The Lost Allagan Helm of Casting is the last head piece in the entirety of Stormblood to have Critical Hit/Spell Speed as it's secondaries. Imagine my surprise when I wanted to get a same stat upgrade. I looked up every helmet in the database and every had was either Critical Hit/Determination, Critical Hit/Direct Hit, or Direct Hit/Spell Speed. Throughout 4 entire patches. This, to me, is unacceptable lol... Would've REALLY loved to have that option, just to have it for my set on my alt job. There really needs to be more gear options per patch. But at least the RDMs are good to go?

    The next instalment of eureka brings back armor upgrades so that might cover it or at least allow you to meld +200 points of whatever missing stats are desired in 5 materia slots.

    Yet this patch is the skill speed on everything for tanks. A paladin should not have a 2.27 skill cooldown.

    Oh I'm sure if it's bad like this for casters, it is probably bad for others as well. Which is why I'd love to have more options. Everyone could benefit from it.

    If you're asking if it really is on hat in the entirety of SB endgame past 4.0, then YEAH! Literally only one hat!

    That's a good thing though since none of the casters want spell speed except for blm and even then it's questionable depending on the bis set you go for.

    While on the subject of stat distribution, can I ask why there's overlap between tome and raid gear?
    A gear piece at end-game tends to have two sub stats in total, so if each job/role uses four and there's two sets of end-game gear, wouldn't it make sense for them not to be the same?
    If, for example, the raid DRG helmet has DHit and Det then the tome one would have Crit and Skill Speed, there's no real reason for both of them to have the same stat.

    A passive way for SE to pseudo balance jobs without having to actually change the job itself.

    Weapons are very bad also. Having Spell Speed on Red Mage weapons and for black mage it had determination and i guess DH, makes such great sense...
    But yes the gear is so messed up in SB, it's as if they just added whatever.

    The weapons in particular are what grates my nerves the most. Role gear, fine, I get it, not all jobs in that role have the same requirements (other than DRG and NIN for left side...). But what in tarnation would make them repeatedly not put spell speed on BLM weapons? Into Suzaku ex I go, I guess (which I dare say works as intended, but still)
