/gpose Suggestion: Selfie Mode

For those of us who enjoy using the gpose function to take fun screenshots of our characters and their friends, I think a selfie function would be a great addition. Currently we can use /thumbsup to mimic it but having a mode specifically for selfies would open up the option of using other emotes in the snapshot.

Perhaps it could lock the camera at arm’s length and the camera movement is limited to your character’s reach.

And speaking of using emotes for the aforementioned Selfie Mode, a peace sign emote would be a great addition as well.

Welp...

I'll be blunt then. There are a plethora of other adjustments and additions I'd rather see added to /gpose before a "selfie mode" is added...

First and foremost... an absolute "free camera position" adjustment. Right now the camera is always tethered to a character model (PC, NPC or minion), I want to be able to manually place the camera (within a certain radius of the character) and then be able to make zoom/angle/tilt adjustments from that orientation instead.

Second... ability/emote toggles within /gpose. I mean, the additions they have made have already made the system much more convenient, but there are still some battle abilities that cannot be accessed without a target, which limits location options for screenshots. Having access to LBs in /gpose as toggle would be incredibly nice too. Now that they've added the option to freeze the weather (which is awesome), having to back out to make a pose adjustment only to see that the weather changed during the prior set up is super frustrating. Being able to toggle/select emotes within /gpose itself would circumvent this.


Finally, regarding selfies... you can already finagle this with the current /gpose options with a variety of different emotes. Pick an animation, have your character face the camera, then freeze the animation with your characters arm stretched out. Then combine zoom and camera position to crop the image with the arm bleeding off the edge of the image somewhere.

I remember when WoW came out with their selfie camera. That was when FFXIV beat them in subscribers.

I never noticed how weird Bahamut's feet look.
I'm not big into taking screenshots of characters but I really enjoy the scenery of the game, so Rowde's suggestions would have more application in game for screenshots than a "selfie" mode would

The timing of it was hilariously terrible.

Class balance wasn't very good, the then current content raids had unfixed bugs, the expansion as a whole was considered very poor, content drought was on the horizon...and Blizzard decided we needed a selfie camera, lol.

I'm all in for a selfie stick...on the other hand better not, i don't want more accidental pulls from people who don't pay attention because they have to do selfies in a game.

IIRC, it was also the first major patch not to have a raid tier, meaning it was the first content patch with practically no content whatsoever.
