So, using gil to teleport won't solve your problem at all..instead, it will just create many, many new ones. Also, I play almost everyday and actually choose to use anima to tele sometimes instead of the airships because Anima is free. Even saying this, I am sitting at around 80 anima. Quite frankly, if you are running out of anima, you are doing it wrong. Here's how you should be able to 'conserve anima'
If you are soloing battle-leves:
1. Grab leves in city of choice for leve camp of choice.
2. Chocobo/Gobbue/walk to camp of choice from said city.
3. Set Homepoint at camp. Do leves
4. When finished, tele back to town (2 anima) or ride back to town, (free anima)
5. Pick up more leves for same camp. Return (Free anima)
Doing this, you could either for free, cut down on your travel times and still tele or spend a measly 2 anima per 3-5leves.
Crafting leves:
1. Pick favorite city and grab leves at counter. (Decide if you want hp to be in town or at camp furthest from town. Set HP in town if that is best for you.)
2. Do leves. Then ride chocobo/goobue/walk all leves from town towards furthest away camp (delivering leves on the way). Set return point at furthest camp...if you didn't set it in town.
3. Return to town. If you have leves that need to be delivered on otherside of town (for example you did bluefrog and horizon but need to deliver one to drybone), run on chocobo/goobue/foot to that spot. Deliver leve.
4. Return to town.
5. Rinse, repeat.
If you set town as your HP and rode/walked to all camps, no anima was used. If you set your HP to the furthest away camp, you can now tele directly there on second cycle of leves but will now spend 2 anima anytime you warp back to town. (either way, you can complete 3 leve cycles for 6anima or under)
When it comes to airships my personal rule is this: If I am not going to make at least 5K by riding the airship to the city in question, then I should either tele (free), walk/ride (free) or wait to go until I'll actually do enough gathering/questing/farming/exping that I'll cover my expenses.
As to: 'but even my chocobo takes to long' I believe people clocked it that you can get from the ferry to gridania in under 10 minutes on a chocobo. That's 2 zones. I think the traveling options in this game are plenty reasonable when everything's said and done.
Also, you can consider NOT picking up leves that require you to leave town/run too far/ go to camps in opposite directions...all this also helps save anima.
