Oh Noes

Hello, adventurers!

I'd like to talk about what happened lately.

In the past, I had already spoken with all the townspeople of Gridania, but only recently I discovered that one of them is actually... special. And no, I'm not talking about the Opo-Opo stalker Lonsygg.

I'm talking about Noes, found at (6, 2), which I only briefly mentioned in my last journal entry due to characters limit reached, and that I'll do more thoroughly here.
A few weeks ago, when I ran by him I noticed he was doing something strange, but when I went next to him he was just walking around as usual.
However, I discovered that after waiting about 30 seconds, he really does something else.

Noes is actually an actor, searching for the best performance.
At first he just walks around, thinking at something...




Then he has an idea, looking like: “I've just had an apostrophe!”




And he starts being an idio... I mean, performing with that crazy expression.





But still unsure if that was too exaggerated, he goes back to thinking...




I wonder if there're some other particular characters like him that do special emotes only after a while (like Nhagi-chan and her /dance2 in the Miners' Guild)...
The Caravan Security escort also has some kind of /stretch2 emote when you speak to him, that wouldn't be so bad to have for us, too.
Oh, and another Miqo'te of the Miners' Guild, Qhota Nbolo, does a particular leg motion very Sharon Stone-like. I wonder how that would suit us adventurers if we, too, could cross our legs while we're /sit on something (like a chair)... Roegadyn /crosslegs would be interesting.

The “Noes emote” looks quite funny, particularly thanks to the facial expressions that are incredibly detailed (I don't know if you can notice it with the pictures, but you surely will if you pay him a visit in Gridania), and I imagined it to become a real emote for us adventurers, something like /perform (I thought /beanidiot or /ohnoes would be cooler, but I doubt they'd be accepted if I requested them...).
It would be nice if we could also somehow “unlock” the emote through a quest initiated by Noes, maybe where he asks us to become a performer like him. Just an idea.

In the past, Camate told us to post more suggestions about emotes we would like to see while on a mount, so I thought about this when we're not riding anything. Also, I thought there was a request for a /sit2 emote (the position while we're on a Goobbue), but I can't find the rep response anymore...

Well, that's it for now! If other adventurers would like to see this emote or have ideas for new ones already seen in Eorzea, please say so here. ...Actually, I wrote this Topic a few weeks ago and completed it just today, and only now I'm noticing other threads in the forum for emotes' requests; anyway, this one in particular asks for already existing emotes, that we can see from other Eorzeans, and introduce them for our use.

- /perform – /ohnoes emote (Main request, from character Noes in Gridania)

The Others:
- /sexydance emote (used by Nhagi-chan in the Miners' Guild)
- /gymstretch emote (used by the Roegadyn of the Caravan Security)
- /sharonstone emote (used by Qhota-chan in the Miners' Guild, while we're /sit on something)
- /layinbed emote (used by young Damielliot in the Alchemists' class quests)

Very interesting Cloudio. I'll have to check these out. There are a lot of NPC specific emotes that I wish we had access too. I think it would be nice to just have a /converse emote and a /dance2 emote that just kept going until you moved your character.

LOL. I was on my MRD when I ran into this NPC yesterday. When he started to get /crazy, I wanted to /LOP off his head with my axe! Specially after the /kneel /handspread /crazycheezygrin thing.... >_>;;

I saw him a few weeks ago. He instantly got my attention beings how he's one of the only animatednpcs n game. Another good one is in uldah next to th npc that gives a lot of the goldsmith leves, he's so mad,lol

Ah yes, Wracwulf... However, I'm not sure that's a really new emote, but rather a combination of already existing ones. I can't confirm it, though, as I'm no Highlander.

Anyway, I was thinking how Great it would be if the devs could introduce the Noes emote after March 27th, something simple to wish good luck to the New Worlds. Of course, I don't except them to really take this into consideration, but I think it would be nice to celebrate the merge with everyone doing that new crazy /perform emote, hehe.

That said, I hope they'll add it sooner or later in the future!

Asesome post. I haven't ran across Noes yet, but I'll be sure and check him out this evening when I make it home from work. I'd be interested in hearing any other discoveries of the like that others have made!
