Here's an idea, maybe tanks and healers get unlimited leveling roulette bonuses, rather than just the single daily one. Once I've done the leveling roulette and the 50-60 one, that's pretty much all the meaningful playtime my tank gets for the day. This is what's making leveling my first tank so slow, since I'm not overly fond of PotD.
That way, more tanks and healer could potentially be in the queue.

As been stated in every previous thread about DPS queue times in duty finder.

This is a problem caused by the player base. The only actual solution will have to come from the player base.

Anything the devs do to try and fix the problem is like trying to fix a leaking water pipe with a band aid.

Well, the optimum way of leveling a tank/healer is spamming the highest unlocked dungeon you can run. I usually spice that up by including the latest 3 dungeons (not perfect, but more fun). No reason to run PotD as a tank/healer (which I usually avoid for dps as well).

I want people to play WAR,DRK or PLD to actually play as a 'tank', not just for the rewards.

It's gonna be as bad as 99,9% of mentors are, they are doing it for the rewards not to 'mentor'.

I don't know why people don't like to play tank honestly. My MMO history started in 2004 with Guild Wars 1 with Warrior as my first and main character. In 2007 I started WoW and my first and main character is a Protection Paladin (still is to this day, and my alt is a Blood DK which are tanks too). I started XIV in 2013 and my first and main job is Gladiator and it still is to this day.
I always loved to play these kind of classes. I even do my MSQ and other quests as PLD.

Also pro tip: for all you DPS people if you want to play a DPS in disguise roll PLD. Since this is about duty finder queues for every single content in DF there is zero reason to MT as a PLD unless of course there's 2 PLD's but.
You sit in DPS stance all day long and enjoy heavy DMG, you can even DPS stance dungeons and stuff, I often outdps my DPS party members though I'm not allowed to say that so sht.
Or, if you like some crazy DPS in bursts roll WAR, although you're gonna be the MT in most of your runs you can DPS stance most fights in normal difficulty. And you can either voke/shirk combo with your OT or just trow in 2 bb's at start of the fight and the continue the rest in DPS stance.

The real "in need bonus" is the tank instant queue.


It's the community's fault for enjoying playing DPS jobs more than healers or tanks. Tank job isn't fun, it's not as flashy, you don't have as much impact on the mob's healthbar. It's seen as boring and a chore. This is just a fact about tanking. Tanking used to be fun in 3.x when WARs could decimate everything and get huge heals from Decimate+Bloodbath. But now...eh

This is the case with MMO's in general. Tanks just take hits, mitigate damage, SOMETIMES dictate where a mechanic lands but most of the time you're pointing the boss away from your DPS while they wail on it and you pray your healer dosen't DC.

I do not hate tanking in this game but I hate maining them in this game all of SB the whole crafted BiS thing has put me off. I tank occasionally for faster ques. But you cannot expect me to main a role the devs have let sit in a fire all xpac. Do not even get me started on the DRK shade this xpac.

Actually, it's more like offering wine and spirits to anyone willing to try and fix the leak. So you either get booze hounds who don't care about how to fix the leak, or true plumbers who will fix the leak and tell you to not worry about any kind of payment.

If you've ever wondered why a tank or healer who has all their respective jobs at max level, for some reason still hops into a roulette for next to no benefit, it's because they bleed the colors of those roles. If they aren't tanking, or if they aren't healing, they are like a shark that isn't swimming. DF is a whetstone for all roles, and serves well to keep you sharpened for the intangibles of your party, whether static or PUG.

Only reason I level tank jobs is for the fast queues and armor glamour. Tanking isn't enjoyable for me and probably for most that tend to main DPS. As for healer I think it's a job that carries more pressure than tanking.

Making everyone's beloved bluemage a tank job might help alleviate the problem but we'll see.

If DRK didnt solved the lack of tanks (even if now is on a crapy state) you can be damn sure that Blue Mage tank will help even less
