    Idea for speed crafting.

I don't know if this is a good idea but it sounded good in my head.

I want to start by saying that I do not want the current crafting changed in any way. I want something added to it. A quality of life tool, if you will. I also don't know if it's even possible.

Anyway. I want to be able to craft an item without having to go through crafting every single mat along the mat chain. That's a lot of time staring at that Quick Synthesis window wishing it were faster when all I care about is grinding out those basic NQ mats faster. This becomes even more irritating if you're a crafter who likes to make full sets along the way while leveling other jobs.

I would like a system in place where I can craft that end item if all the levels in all the Disciples of Hand are met and all the base mats are in my inventory. Maybe even have a "Use HQ materials" option like with Quick Synthesis.

Edit: I'm ok with HQ materials being counted as NQ with no increase towards quality. I'm also ok to this being restricted to basic common gear as well.
    Please.

I like your idea but I see it never seeing the light of day.
If you removed the need for the intermediary crafting steps, you remove a significant time sync. SE wants to keep us busy grinding away on mindless content, and "Quick Synth" is about as mindless as it gets. Crafting is a time sync.
This would also reduce the market for intermediate base items (e.g. Leathers) as the base.

I make heavy use of macros to do bulk crafting jobs while I watch youtube.

    *(laughs)*

This is exactly what I'm doing while posting here on the forums.

Honestly crafting will likely need/get some changes come 5.0 simply due to ability bloat. right now we have a ton of buttons to the point of filling 4 hot bars and with more levels means more buttons we can't really fit all that easily. PC has the luxury of tons of hot bars, but I kind of doubt PS4 players have as many cross bars.

At least with macros a skill doesn't have to be on your bar for it to activate. Doesn't fix the issue, and I do agree - we have like 50 skills that do the same thing with varying %, potency, efficiency, etc. It's a little ridic. I get it's supposed to be a minigame but at a certain point it just gets boring, esp since everybody who crafts high-end stuff uses macros.

I think it is better just simplify the process of making requierd mats.

To make a Chigusa Ingot you must make a Oroshigane Ingot, then a Tama-hagane ingot, then the Chigusa ingot. And a lot materalias are like this. It is very annoying and pointless.

PS4 players(And PC too) have 8 cross-hotbars with 16 buttons each one (128 buttons in total). Plus the 10 regular hotbars with 12 buttons each (120 buttons in total). There are plenty of space. With only the tiggers, you can quick access a total of 48 (3 hotbars) buttons, without need change the crosshotbar. That's more than enough for any class, as the crafters does not use all the skills, only use few of them.

Well I suppose it's a choice on the devs in the end on how annoying they want to make crafting. Make no mistake, crafting a full set of anything is annoying. It's either change the whole idea of crafting to something far more simple or give crafters a way of doing it faster while still maintaining the current system. I just want the monotony to end. I do not want to take so many steps to make one item.

Also yes, while less people will buy ready made items like leathers, I believe the market will simply shift towards base items like hides. Which is how it should be in my opinion.

For anyone who might not understand due to my bad explaining.

Again, keep in mind every base item like hides and everything required to transform it into leather will still be required with the idea I'm throwing out. There is no reduction in base items just the need to craft them.

Now: hide >>> leather >>> then final product

with proposed changes: hide >>> final product

same amount of materials for both.

I hope I'm making sense. lol

The time expense crafting and gathering is intended. That's not to say that a QoL change isn't in order. One suggestion that I had is a crafting NPC as I find little value in having a crafting retainer. You still acquire the mats, and along with a fee in gil has them produce as many of the intermediary mats your turn-in and pocket allows instantly. They can HQ for you as well for either a significant cost increase, or you have to turn in the mats as HQ. There would be restrictions, of course. Such as having to craft the intermediary mat yourself first, but DO NOT LET RNG be a part of this system! Otherwise you take the QoL right out of this addition to the game.

Having “quick synth” actually be quick would be a good start. If you want to see real quick synth, make a pile of ingots in GW2.

I wouldn’t care if HQ chance were set to zero so long as it was that fast.
