I don’t think anyone said he was complaining about raiders. People are saying that jerk behavior just isn’t specific to any one piece of content. People will be jerks in the overworld, dungeons, PvP; it doesn’t matter.

oh..eh nah, some types of content seem to get a lot more jerks, probably because there's a lot more jerk potential. 24-mans seem to devolve into sniping at each other a lot easier than other content, for example.

Perhaps in your experience, but I've seen dungeons get downright hostile just as often as 24-mans. It's all anecdotes at the end of the day; the behavior isn't exclusive to a singular piece of content. Jerks will be jerks, and it doesn't matter where. Hence my original comment. I'm sorry the OP felt singled-out for bullying/harassment, but it's not behavior that happens exclusively in raids. It happens everywhere. Best you do is shrug it off and stop dwelling on it. Easier said than done, but why give people more ammunition. They want to know they're under your skin; so you don't let 'em.

I don't know how it is on the NA datacenter but over here i've noticed nothing of what you are claiming. Sure you have sometimes 1 or 2 people who can't behave but that happens the same way in 4 and 8 man content.
Maybe people shouldn't have such a negative behaviour torwards certain content just because something happened in there once. If it happens frequently that people go after someone this person should maybe thing about the reason for that and its most likely not just because others are always jerks.

I wasn’t inappropriate in the raid, and I don’t even know you.No offense, but they more than likely were not harassing you because of your sexuality, but because you tend to be highly inappropriate in game (first hand experience).
Was what they did okay? No. But it was probably not because of your sexuality.
Blacklist those people and move on. FFXIV is the most LBGTQ friendly game out there, and a few people are not indicative of the masses.

You should be proud of what makes you who you are. It’s not about ego at all. In a world where people act so mean just because someone is different for any reason, we need to be proud of what we are.
Might I suggest you be proud of who you are instead of what you are? For most things that make us what we are, we don't typically choose them: race, nationality, sex, sexuality. You might be able to change some of those, but you don't get to pick the one you're born into. It's a bit silly to be proud of being born something.
Instead, be proud of something that truly makes you, you. Like your personality. And by be proud, I mean be happy with yourself, not flaunt it. You don't have to tie who you are to any of the aforementioned things. Often, it's something that teenagers do, but most people grow out of that phase when they finally figure out who they are.
I'm very different from most people myself. But you know what? Nobody has to know that. They don't matter in my world. Only I, and the people I care about, do.

^This pretty much. Also, having that kind of personal information advertised for all to see is a troll's wet dream, I'm not excusing what they said or their actions but this entire situation most likely could have been avoided if you chose what kind of information you want to display to the public. Anonymity on the internet and all that.Might I suggest you be proud of who you are instead of what you are? There's not a slight hint of bait/trolling. It's a person with a grievance based on a type of harassment which really does happen in-game, but some people are insensitive and don't understand what the issue is. The OP seems sincere and not doing anything to provoke people here.
Some people don't have thick skin and can be hurt by people being unnecessarily mean to them online. Personally I would consider leaving a duty if my party put ignore marks on my character and refused to resurrect me in battle. We get punished with a penalty for leaving but sometimes it's better than playing with malicious people.
