Ver. 2.0 Auto Settings Config (easy button please)

I know most of the video settings will be adjustable in game after 2.0, so its not going to be so painful as it is now, but spending the first few hours of the game tweaking settings tends to ruin the immersion. First impressions are everything (even if its the second first impression ie 2.0) It would be nice if after you install the game it runs through some hardware test and sets your options to what it thinks is the best for your system. This puts more emphasis on the game play and lessens the technical buggy/debugging headache.

Not possible. So many people have different hardware configurations there is not 1 good set of config options that will work best for everyone. Welcome to pc gaming.

The game installs with recommended settings (that is your easy button), as you just found out, they don't work well for everyone.

It's entirely possible? Many games have an auto config button that will pick the "most appropriate" settings for your system to ensure the best possible framerate, but usually it fails miserably and you end up playing with settings anyways... or just dragging everything to max. For instance, Oblivion thought my old PC should run at minimum spec, when it could actually be run at medium.

A slider bar in-game (hehe, unloving sponge attack) would be nice.

With option templates such as Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High, Ultra High, and Custom. You can use one of these as your template and then make modifications. Players can quickly determine whether one of the templates works for them without having to take a screenshot, leave the game, make an adjustment, log in, load back into the game, new screenshot, etc.

Aside from the immersion comment, I think the request is a good one.

Played anothe PC game recently (you know, the one with the arrow and the knee), and liked the fact that it auto-set the settings after analyzing hardware. It allowed to play now, and care about settings later (you're excited to play now when you just buy a game normally ...).

Anything that can enhance new players experience at this point is welcome.
