yup, it's too far for no good reason. 10 or 12 is probably enough.

I agree. 10-12 sounds good. And for the potency, I also agree that they might as well move it to corps-a-corps

Not using Displacement is a damage loss, but using it and dying is a bigger loss. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't fat-finger it.

That's the problem, not being able to use it. One already knows not to jump off the edge or touch the insta-kill goo

I don't get it, they removed the potency from repelling shot, then added displacement having the same, if not worse issues.

Because repelling was meant to be a movement only tool and not as a core part of the jobs mechanics. Much like Blank and Fluid Aura

Hard to call it a core part when you can't use it at all in some fights, and you can do melee combo just fine without it, it's just a needless potency loss to factors not in your control.

Its easy fix. All they need to do is make fighting areas larger so don't flip off the edge and die using it.

Just to retouch this. Today I was doing Suzaku and (yes, totally my fault) I fat fingered displacement while being halfway from the boss and the edge. Needless to say, I plunged down the abyss of death.
