Only reason Garuda, Titan and Ifrit HM dropped weapons was because they were already harder versions of the stort versions, which did in fact not drop anything.

What do you think normal mode trials should drop?
I agree I would like to see something more from normal mode.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Because.. its normal?I tend to do Extreme, so I personally don't care too much, but it seems weird that the Extreme trials have all of the gear now while there's pretty much no reason to run the Normal Mode.
Perhaps the Normal Trial could have accessories as incentive while Extreme has weapons? It just seems weird to make the Normal Trial a one and done deal, particularly for people who might happen to start that content late.
Trial Roulette (as a dps) pops in 5 minutes but if queue for any Trial from post-ARR onward as a dps be prepared for 60 minutes wait time over here. And the pool from Trial Roulette will not help for anything from Royal Menagerie onward (nobody will queue that as a level 70 job).I can't speak for Chaos, but over on Aether I have never waited more than twenty minutes during prime time hours for any roulette save Main Scenario and occasionally 50/60. Most typically pop within 5-10 minutes. Adding weapons or whatnot isn't going to speed this along because they will be inferior. Why play with RNG in a Suzaku normal trial when you can easily obtain a i370 weapon through guaranteed Mendacity farming and one Rabanastre and Ridorana run?
Normal mode exists purely for story and little else. The inventive people have to continuously run it is Trial Roulette.
This might not have been clear, but I don't want to see weapons drop from Normal trials, but things like glamor items or housing stuff (like they did with MHW Normal) would be nice. Make it a drop chance so people have an incentive to run these more often.
Right now the Normal trial seem pretty much wasted content that people only run once.
I think Khloe really helped this back in HW, but she seems to have become dead content to most people (mostly because she's in idyllshire and most people don't care about the rewards), maybe if that kind of content got an update, we would see more people doing NM trials without needing to put housing items and other rewards in them.
The flip side of the argument is that NM fights should not be content, rather an accessibility tool so that players who don't want to do extremes get to experience the story, if more emphasis is put on the NM version, then it would compete with the Ex version potentially
Friend of mine has recently gone through the story again on a DPS and only waited 40 minutes on old dungeons, primarily because 50/60 roulette offers garbage EXP. Therefore, no one bothers unless it's a new raid tier. Regardless, if you put glamour rewards, people are simply going to unsync thing. I can solo every single ARR trial and a good chunk of HW ones. If I'm farming for someone, it makes more sense to do it by myself since it guarantees I get the item.Trial Roulette (as a dps) pops in 5 minutes but if queue for any Trial from post-ARR onward as a dps be prepared for 60 minutes wait time over here. They drop tomestones and EXP (in the case of Ifrit/Garuda/Titan/Susano/Lakshmi/Bismarck/Ravana).
Why should you be rewarded for nothing?
it's the primary reason, it's not the only reason. if it was the only reason, they wouldn't have added this whole new tier of loot into it.
it's content that people do a lot when it gets released, getting rid of the incentive to do it is a bad idea with no meaningful benefit.
you want more meaningful content without huge increases in development cost, what you suggest doesn't accomplish that.
there's a tier of people that will never do that. incentives be damned, for those people you either have to lower the difficulty of Savage content which nobody wants or you make them something in between, this is what we have now. don't pretend like getting rid of it will move most of those people into Savage without nerfing Savage even more. No, what this games need is more incentive for casuals to try harder content. If the easy content provide both story and powerful gear, they'll never took a shot at the higher difficulties.
Normal raid gear and capped tome gear are too powerful, especially since you absolutely don't need them if you never set foot in EX and Savage content.
