Why don't normal Trials drop anything?

If they don't drop items, you won't have to do the same boost in required ilvl. In ARR, there was no "normal raid" so you only had a 20 ilvl gap between uncapped and capped tome, and uncappe tome gear was enough to meet the ilvl requirement.

yes, but that means there's less content for people to do. why do we want less content?

Idk honestly. I dont think they should drop weapons but currently they exist as roulette fodder.

the normal trials are intentionally made super easy for story purposes

More like mentor roulette. Having everything unlocked hasn't been a requirement for any other roulette (or at least trial) for a while now.

Perhaps the Normal Trial could have accessories as incentive while Extreme has weapons?

I wish they would do that. Still a bit miffed that Lakshimi didn't get her own weapon line.

Like, Moggle Mog. You can get a Mog Whisker (very rarely), and weak mog weapons.

I mean, Suzaku could at least drop 350 weapons. Would that be too OP?

Not something you'd use to fight Suzaku but would make an excellent "skip grind on other jobs" weapons.

350 weapons when you can farm mendacity, get the 360 and then 1 Rabanastre and Ridorana to improve it to 370. Would be a waste of data and effort.

Not everybody enjoys farming hundreds and hundreds of mendacity, or they might need that mendacity to do something else with.
