    Next Expansion and Flying.

First, I'm not a fan of the errant aether currents thrown out in the middle of nowhere. I know they're sort of there to get people to explore the areas, but I would much rather do away with those and tie all of them into quests. I would much rather have obtaining them be interesting via stories, than just *click compass, run in direction.* Even if the quests/stories tied to them are mundane as hell, I could at least enjoy getting them instead of popping the compass every 10 seconds to play Marco Polo.

Second, ENOUGH with making every single mount able to fly. Bears, T-Rexes, friggin Gobbues. Yes, I know people say that "If it doesn't fly, no one will want it!" but compensate terrestrial mounts. Make them faster on land, than the flying mounts are while flying. This evens out, as a flying mount can go over terrain obstacles, while the terrestrial mounts can zoom around it. I, for one, would love to feel like I'm hauling ass on a chocobo, or a ground-based Fenrir.

0....e Man, I'll never understand why people make suggestions that would gimp things for others. I mean, sure they could make ground mounts faster while removing their ability to fly, or, and hear me out for a second here, they could make every mount faster AND give them the ability to fly. I mean, if you don't want a flying bear, you just have to not double tap spacebar while on a bear. Problem solved. No need to take things away from people that like them.

It has nothing to do with "gimping things for others," but rather bringing things in line with sanity. I fail to see how making a mount, such as a bear, terrestrial-only and giving it 2-3x more movement speed than a Yol, when the Yol can go directly from Point 1 to Point 2, ignoring terrain, while the bear goes from Point 1 to Point 2 in an indirect path, but with a much faster movespeed. Seeing the T Rex flying was laughable enough, but then to have them make a Gobbue, which is pretty much a plant elemental with no possible connection to the air, able to fly is a joke.

I enjoy hunting for the aether currents on the map personally. I hope they're back next expansion.

I agree with you on the second point but I think it's unlikely to happen.
Edit: I also wouldn't mind making all the ground mounts fly if SE put more effort into the animations.

I don't mind converting ground mounts to flying mounts but god, SE could at least be creative with it..
Noclip goobue, behemoth, and the elephant are dumb. If the Gil turtle came out now, it would have a simple run animation when flying...
Let a bunch of sylphs fly out and carry the goobues, let behemoth summon and ride a giant meteor, let the elephant act like dumbo or something. Anything is better than just letting it noclip into the sky. >.>

That I can agree with, some more elaborate flying animations would be nice.

I dislike how the last flying quest is locked on the last msq mission of the zone. At least make more stuff to do in those zones aside from msq and side quests. Beast tribe quests are good for that since its repeatable a day for rewards.

Okay, let's talk about sanity for a bit. Player characters, mostly tanks and dragoons, but occasionally the other classes as well, go around wearing full sets of plate armor all the time. Not only do they run around in plate armor, they fight in it too. All the time. They never get tired. That hardly seems sane. They also routinely fight monsters much bigger than them. A dragon should be able to flatten just about any player character. They should all go down in one hit, but they don't. That's not sane. Speaking of which, the speed at which player characters recover is nonsense. If a normal person got attacked they way player characters do in pretty much any dungeon, they'd probably be hospitalized. They'd be recovering for a good while, and that's assuming they survived at all, but instead some dude in a dress can sprinkle some fairy dust on your character and suddenly they're fine. That's not sane.

Hell, let's bring this a bit more in line with what you're talking about, mounts. Mounts just materialize out of thin air the second they're called, regardless of where you left them. They can keep running forever, and they're never affected by anything. They don't get hurt, they don't age, they're never hungry and they don't die. That's hardly sane, is it? If you want to advocate for "sanity", why not go all the way and ask for something like black desert's mount system. You won't see any silly flying dinosaurs there.

I'll admit I'm being a little hyperbolic here, but my point is that what's "sane" to you is tedious to another person. You want mounts to be more realistic? You can do that on your own. Just choose not to fly when you're using a mount that you've arbitrarily decided shouldn't, but don't go around asking for things to be made worse just because it doesn't fit your idea of how things should and shouldn't work in game. Mounts should be given more functionality, not less.

Well, someone's butthurt. Let's bring it into line: "Fantasy sanity" being what your hyperbole talks about and "lore sanity" being opposing elements. The words "Opposing Elements" make my argument for me, without resorting to grandstanding.

Someone doesn't understand the entire reason why they're making so many land mounts fly is because people straight up weren't using them otherwise.
