most tanking tips are fight and role specific. that's why the first thing i asked in this thread is if he was MT or OT but he has no interest in engaging in that kind of conversations so he never bothered to respond.Kicking someone is fine, but why throw in insults? That doesn't really help anyone at all. Slightly off topic, and not to be selfish, but I'd love any tips on paladin and or any tank for that matter. Feel free to add me on discord, if anyone wants to share any tips at all. Zanasen#5964
Well, its possible that they thought he was trolling, which might be why they told him to stop playing like shit. They thought he was griefing. Not that it excuses it, personally I would have just kicked him without typing anything.Kicking someone is fine, but why throw in insults? That doesn't really help anyone at all. Anyway, I'm learning PLD right now and here's the guide I've been using. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...shNONpE30/edit

Came here from Reddit for the memes. Was not disappointed. OP has ascended to living meme status. Here's a hint was what subreddit brought me here, great community btw. Never change OP never change.

Honestly, changing a name won't let you escape from this. You have such a unique... fingerprint... as a tank that even if you were to change your ingame name you'd still be easy to point at in a crowd.
You're going to need to take some time off and learn your class. Take up the offers others have made to teach you.
Also fire your free company. The fact that they let you get this far, this catastrophically bad, means they've failed you entirely.
And for the love of God learn to take advice when it's offered. Before doing anything else.

Whew lad. This was a ride. An hilarious one that I'll fondly look back on when I wanna share why I quit this game.
I was the BLM in this group.
OP stole the boss from MT and proceeded to bounce the boss between NE and NW corners until finally settling on NE. OP positioned the boss sideways, so that the Larboard/Starboard Wave Cannon mechanic would hit 90% of the room (instead of 50-60%). Members of our group attempted to communicate with OP in party chat during the encounter, but the attempts were met with silence. OP did acknowledge a waymark that was thrown up at North, but still faced the boss sideways making positioning awkward and some mechanics more difficult to deal with. OP was in Shield Oath for the entire duration, and use the enmity combo over and over and over and over again. After the wipe, additional communication attempts were met with silence. I believe that is what prompted the vote kick and removal from party.
Mechanics can be learned. Play styles can be adjusted. Laughs and good times can be had. I'm pretty sure we'd have no issues with new players or others who run the content blind. But your rogue attitude throughout the entire encounter was counter-productive, disruptive, and justifiable grounds for the vote kick. You're even missing several useful abilities from your class' toolkit and cross-class skills (Royal Authority, Goring Blade, Holy Spirit, Rampart, Convalescence, etc.) as logs can prove.
Perhaps you can try being humble and receptive towards learning more about your class. There's always room for improvement, even though you clearly believe that you've reached the pinnacle of paladin tanking based on your responses in this thread. And while the insult was unnecessary, I believe the sentiment is valid. A good player in a MMO goes beyond doing well in their own job/class/profession/trade and makes the effort to communicate and work together with others as a team.
