Thanks for your message, here are a few answers.

    Type of connection : wired
Other programs running : steam, usually also firefox
Frequency : used to be really rare and fixed after one relaunch, but since today it's all the time

What I've done to try to resolve the issue : I changed DNS but that seems to have triggered account protection and I've been asked to change my password
I've tried deleting the launcher config file or editing it changing the browser setting but that didn't help

I was able to log in after going into config and reseting system settings but that looks like it was a fluke as after I've logged out I still have the same problem.

I did now tweak the internet explorer options as described, and restarted PC, but the problem was still there afterwards though now I sometimes have other script errors displayed

"An error occured on a script for this page

    line : 114
    caracter : 2
    Error : "swk" is undefined
    Code : 0
    URL : https://ffxiv-login.square-enix.com/...ft=0&issteam=1

Do you still wish to excute scripts on this page ? Yes / No"

I will try again after resetting my router.

Thank you for the update Ploudret.

Changing those Internet Explorer settings usually fixes the script errors in your second post, but it seems like it was triggered by it. You are using Windows 7 so it might be slightly different than the settings I gave you earlier (I forgot these are for windows 10). When you delete the browsing history, make sure you clear the cache and cookies, if you have not done so already.

I'd also suggest making exceptions for the game in your firewall/anti-virus. If either one of these updates, it can create a false positive.

    Hello,

I cleared cache and cookies already but did it again for good measure. Router was reset but did not help.

There is already an exception for FF14 launcher in my firewall and I do not use any other software other than windows for security. I tried desactivating the windows firewall and microsoft security essentials but it did not fix the problem.

I reset all Internet explorer options to default in case it would help and restarted the computer again, but no avail.

Do you have anything else I could try ?

Thank you for the reply Ploudret.

You might want to check if the following port ranges are open in your router. You can contact your ISP and request that they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

I'd also suggest performing a clean boot. For Windows 7, Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration utility. On the General tab, click the Selective startup option, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
