What you can do to make it easier is pivot your camera around when he faces you; i.e. look at your character's face. That way you always dodge relatively to your right or left. Otherwise, you simply have to memorize the patterns.

Larboard/Starboard -> Larboard/Starboard = Dodge right, then left
Starboard/ -> Larboard = Dodge left, stay put
Larboard -> Starboard = Dodge right, stay put

Generally I don't have an issue with star/lar, but then I'm usually tanking and if not I'm in sword oath smacking Omega's butt. I could see it being more annoying for a range dps potentially if you're not positioned well to get into either potential safe zone quickly.

Really though I wish they named it Starboard and Port. I guess it kinda makes sense larboard is an antiquated term and Omega is really old. But at the same time, there are times where I have to squint to double check which cannon is being fired, and it would be easier to immediately tell if they used Port instead of Larboard.

The only thing still vexing me is how do those bombs that can paralyze you work? I should look up a guide for the fight.
