Eureka Anemosis still a huge problem with easy solutions

I know this has been hashed to death. I'll try to make this quick since everyone knows why this system is trash. Some people like it, but it is out of place and absurd that it was put into the game.

I have been looking forward to getting to Eureka for months. Now I might actually leave the game because of it.

    1. Why would you punish players for trying something and dying? Then they get to beg raises from others or lose a TON of XP. Elvl 7 loses 11.5k. It took me a lot of mindless grind to get that xp. The option of having someone rez you to circumvent this indicates it's uselessness. Just remove the penalty. This is a no-go for me. Why would you do this to your players?

    2. It takes forever to kill anything solo. So it is not a solo instance, which I think everyone knows. Why not? What is the alternative for players who do not want to NM train low levels and get nothing?

3.Mob density is crazy considering the rate of respawn, the power of the mobs, and the time it takes to kill anything. This could be fixed by simply increasing the geography size to separate packs a little more. I.E Red Mage leap back makes you dead/aggros everything.

    4. Gear is pointless, especially with crafted gear not requiring hundreds of hours of mindless grind. I can't even tell if the armor looks different eventually.

    5. Mindless grind until you get high enough to help even a little on NM trains. Then again, NM trains...

    6. Can't mount until elvl 17, out of 20. For what purpose?

    7. Aetherytes cannot be used until elvl 9. Why? what purpose does that serve? To force those that do to be raised by party members 6 times moving from one boss to the next?

    8. You get nothing from doing it when you leave. Allow us to level alts this way like PotD or HoH. But until you get higher levels and thus loot boxes, you get nothing.

I am sure there are many more issues. How does any of that fit into a FF game? And just because SE treated FF11 players badly, doesn't mean they should here too. I owned FF11, and like 3 expansions. I never played it because it was like this. I don't regret that choice.

My disappointment with something I strongly looked forward to disenfranchises me with the people running this because I genuinely cannot begin to understand why someone designed it like this?

Even fixing #1 and/or #2 would be a huge boon which would be easy enough to do, and #1 wont cost SE anything. It's funny because it feels like this is designed to keep people like me away lol, which is the opposite of a game

I am not here to complain, I keep trying to enjoy it, but I know a lot of people feel the same and I think we need to keep bringing it up if there is to be any change at all. Eureka should have been a great time sink for me at lvl 70, and you guys worked really hard on it. It just is not remotely acceptable in its current state. Now what do I spend my time doing? Farming gil to purchase crafted ilvl 350 gear. Sweet, I guess.

people wanted an overworld with danger and consequences - this is it. it's also a big nostalgic throwback to fans of FFXI.

I never saw any player died and did not get a res from shout, not even in Pagos.
You can be helpful at low level if you are healer since healing do not related to element level.
NM train is there for everyone, it is good exp and more safe, ask if someone can give you a ride between NM.
You can also do weekly challenge log for exp.
The loot boxes there are not bad at all, they are the reason I got gil to buy a house, they also have a mount in there, who doesn't want a flying T-Rex?

my biggest issue is the lack of ability to party lvl sync, i have friends that arent lvl 20 yet and i cant do anything to help them lvl and it sucks, at least once they got to 20 we could use anemos cap to continue logs

Pretty sure XI's mobs weren't just training dummies with raid tier damage output and the odd AOE.

Also XI style encounters doesn't work with XIV's gameplay.

The only solution is to delete it all. Go back to XI if you want XI. XIV 1.0 is best left in the graveyard, where it belongs.

Party mob grinding is archaic, and was voted off the island almost two decades ago. Stop trying to make it happen, because it's not going to happen.

Incidentally, stop trying to make yourself enjoy it if you don't enjoy it. Write it off. Don't let them bribe you into being miserable for a tacky piece of glamour you'll forget as soon as you start 5.0.

I seem to remember XI's mobs basically being like tanks. High HPs, high attack, couldn't even outlast an Even Match on some jobs solo. Forget about fighting anything Tough or higher without BST. And the NMs got to the point where all they did was spam AOE. Even some of the experience mobs were dangerous enough to wipe a party. Granted they added some more "delicate" mobs here and there, but XI was a rough and unforgiving game. Constantly running sneaking through areas using /check to survive.

But you are right about XI style encounters not working with XIV's gameplay. I don't think anyone, in this day and age, could sit there for 2-3 minutes per mob, auto-attacking and laying out a skillchain/magic burst here and there. Probably a guarantee that you couldn't get 6 people to sit and do it for hours.

To OP: You'll probably not like anyone who says this, but the content is optional, as far as game progression goes. It's basically going to be a relic that will be tossed a few hours into 5.0, and a little nostalgic FFXI armor along the way. Now if you're into minion, emote, or ??? collecting... well then it's probably not optional to you.

Anemos I didn't mind that much. Most of the pain was front loaded and it became more and more bearable as I leveled up. Still, I hope that this system isn't reused in 5.0. I may skip the 5.0 relic entirely if it's another Eureka but I do play to stick through this one.

Pagos I have more issues with than Anemos. The map design is more obnoxious. A lot of the later 20s NMs are in the northwestern part but the only way there is past the void dragons and other dangerous enemies you have to slow walk past, making it annoying to get up there. The NW aetheryte should really be level 25 or 27 instead of level 30. The one way dropdown cliffs are also an annoying gimmick, and again they reuse the 'walk past the sleeping dragon' bit that gets tedious very quickly on all the cliffs. On top of the map itself being more annoying to navigate than Anemos, you don't get your mount until level cap and they added an obnoxious light grind to it. I feel like the grind to level 35, three Louihi kills at level 34+, and the 500 Pagos crystals ought to be more than enough, throwing the 31 light kettle fillups feels excessive compared to Anemos.

I really hope the third map is more like Anemos and less like Pagos in terms of the map geography, enemy placement and the amount of 'end game' grind once you hit level cap.
