    glamour dresser for houses?

Am I the only one that finds it silly and tedious that I have to leave my house and go to some city in order to access the glamour system?
Then having to go to an inn is an extra inconvenience as well. It defeats the purpose of housing (it's the only core feature I can't access from there), as well as being nonsensical ("let's leave my house and go to a hotel to get dressed").

They've said several times that a glamour dresser for houses is in the works, so it'll happen. Some day. Maybe. I agree, though, and I think there needs to be one available at the Gold Saucer, too.

From the last news I saw, the future of glamour dressers in housing looks grim.

Gamer Escape: I’m curious why we haven’t seen the glamour dresser as a furnishing item yet?

Y: In terms of having a furnishing item… there’s a scary amount of item data connected to it. Something like a glamour dresser has a few hundred items associated with it. With furnishing items, you can move it around, or someone else can move it around… it’s very dangerous and risky and very unstable to have an item like that for you to place in your own personal housing.

I’m sure with the convenience of moving around normal furnishings, or having retainers available, or having the ability to access market boards, it’s logical to think, “why can’t we have it as an item?” but the engineering behind that, having the items taken out, but suddenly not having it there, or having other people affect the location of the dresser…. we have to be very careful in working on that. That’s why we can’t just have it available as a furnishing item or something that can be readily placed.

This is so weird, though, because we have things like the armoire and the company chest in our houses already. What is so different about the design of the glamour dresser that it causes them this much grief to create a housing item for it?

I think it's critical to make this, because with the amount of time I spend on glamour, I want to use my house more and not hang out in the Inn all the time. This is made worse by the limit to 10 plates, so it's not like I can make enough outfits in advance for different jobs.

I think it is just a bunch of gobbledygook to pretend they can't do it and allow them to push it off. Other than maybe the toy chest I can't think of any other inn room item that hasn't been ported to houses.

The toy box exists as a housing item too. XD But yeah, I agree.

Hard to say. Are there more items in the game that can be equipped than items that can be freely traded between players? The FC chest is a good comparison because anything that can be traded can be placed in it. The Armoire is hardly evidence since it only stores a very small and select set of items so it's data requirements would much smaller (basically just an on/off switch for whether or not the player has stored an item on the list).

Personally I don't mind the occasional trip to the inn room to make changes to a plate or to apply a specific glamour to a new item but I can see how it would be annoying to someone who changes glamours far more often than the limited number of glamour plates allow. I suspect we'd see an increase to the number of glamour plates before we see a housing item added, though.

From SE or directly Yoshi's history of responses when asked why such and such isn't implemented yet, they tend to blame data stored on the server. It's always because of that asked item or feature comes with a load of data that the server can't handle. Until it's finally implemented as a big "surprise" years after. Please look forward to it. Excuses... Not Like it's 2018 on our way to 2019.
