Ah... I should clarify. I haven't touched summoner in months. My main is ninja. Which is affected a lot by tanks lately that like to spin the boss.
Honestly, if the devs were to actually implement an official parser, it would very likely be heavily censored or overly simplified. One possible implementation would be something similar to racing games and how the racer's positions are updated real-time as they drive along the track. In this case, the parser would shift players around as the fight progresses by how much damage is dealt to the boss, but not actually show you the damage numbers. Though, that does mean that you won't know how much of a difference in damage, say, between second and third would be; could be just by a few hundred, or it could very well be in the thousands. There's very little point in implementing a parser like that though.
For god’s sake, stop asking for parser. This is not WoW
Your issue is uptime. melees have much more to deal with than ranged. Chances are you aren't nw or ne in most position starts which you should be as it hurts your uptime if you aren't. You aren't using you gap closer to get right back on the boss if it moves to the other side of the map. You're not being greedy when it comes to dodging aoes or realizing how some of them work. Basically its the little things that are leading to the variance you are seeing. A parser will help improve none of that what will those is getting to know how the game functions better and what you as a melee can do to increase your uptime. They might seem small or don't matter much but over the course of a 10-13 minute fight they add up
Greed is the name of the game when it comes to melee dps.

Why not work on improving? No good player turned on FFXIV one day and suddenly parsed orange. If you truly are garbage (you may surprise yourself, after all), by refusing to improve, you've essentially told your party to pick up the slack while you reap the benefits. Not exactly fair now is it?I really rather people not see how garbage I am because I already know I'm garbage. >> At least without a parser, they can't tell 100% just how awful I am. |: I don't mind if I could see my own or if people could see their own, but I don't like other people seeing my over all performance number/statistics wise and then judging me and comparing me to others based on that. I think it has a lot of potential for bullying/harassment/exclusion/little-to-no room for growth if consistently excluded, etc.
And I guarantee in any EX or Savage fight, someone has ACT running. They may not upload, but most raiders are using it.
Calling someone bad is not harassment. Are they being rude? Absolutely. But nothing he said actually requires ACT. Therefore, if parsers were 100% banned tomorrow, this exchange still happens, thus proving it's not a the parser but the individual who is toxic. And that regardless of whether parsers exist, people who want to vocally their annoyances are going to do so. I mean, in a lot of chances if you were performing badly, you'd simply be silently kicked. Now you have no idea why it happened. Do you prefer that?I mean... this is what we have to deal with without an in game parser...and you know this griefer has ACT. Imagine how scathing this would be if an in game parser was added, and now nothing is holding him back. Not only can he be a dick, but he can be a dick, and post numbers. For context, the griefer died to ignoring mechanics on Burn's first boss. White mage died trying to slow res him, and got clipped by AoE in process. He was calling for me to die, so we can reset. I didn't, cause boss was near dead, and I thought I had a chance, could use his long AoE casts to heal up with souleater. Got him down to from 5% to 2%, with him trolling me all the while.
I'd rather not give him an in game parser, so he can harass with numbers legitimately as well.
With that all said, I can forgive the low ilvl if you've been away from the game for a while. But the materia excuse just doesn't fly anymore. If you can't afford them, spam Leveling Roulette on a tank for a few days. That's a guaranteed Cluster for every single run. There is, frankly, no excuse to not have melds short of laziness. Likewise, use cheaper food. Priestly Omelette are still a good alternative despite being Heavensward food. Of course, I'm assuming this is Savage you were attempting. If it's normal, then who cares? The person's getting uppity over nothing.
Actually... FFlogs has a category for all 70 dungeons, normal modes and 24 man raids. Basically everything at level 70 can be uploaded. No one cares though because it's not difficult content. Even EX Primals are treated more as "lol cool" in regards to parsing. In fact, I spent a few hours with some randoms a while back and we meme'd with balance pads on Tsukiyomi because why not. It was fun. This doom and gloom scenario you have simply wouldn't exist, at least not to any ubiquitous degree. Sure, you will get the occasional jerk, but welcome to the Internet. That person will be a jerk with or without a parser.Yeah, but FFLogs is a third party website and they don't record casual stuff like Roulettes and such, because nobody cares. However, if you could parse people in-game without the website, then I bet people could, and would, use the parsing tool to be jerks in content where you don't need parses, IE, leveling roulette etc.

I'm fine with your other responses. They make sense. And you made the very same assumption yourself. I mean, I guess it could stand the reason that he utilizes FFlogs for information, but doesn't actually have the parser...but that's a bit far fetched isn't it? You assumed he made the last comment based on looking at the FFlogs website, much like my assumption that he is using ACT himself...we will never truly know...but a bit of the pot calling the kettle black there.
However, I wanted to key in on this last bit. It's not the assumption you made that I took issue with (it's a perfectly reasonable assumption). It was the broad brush you used that assumption on to paint ALL players who parse into a bucket.
The bottom line is if tomorrow SE decided to unleash an unmitigated fully in depth parser the world wouldn't end. There'd be some reports and growing pains and then the community would stabilize. It's not like by implementing it it's allowing open doors to harassment and vulgarity and the fact that you even tried to cite that as a valid reason was disingenuous at best.
One day I'll be the MT mountain I want to be... But that day is not today. (As of Patch 3.2)
Why does it matter there are 3rd party ones already available, they don't need official ones.
It is only because you are not in an officer chat.
Also, even WoW does not have an official parser out of the box, why S/E need to offer one?
