The problem with saying they should allow personal or private parsers is that they wouldn't stay private. Someone would figure out how to pull that data from the game. The data would be up on things like FFLogs. If your data *wasn't* there then you'd be excluded from parties. Yeah, people can do some of this now but they have to be careful with what they say in game. Having any sort of parser endorsement by SE will open that sort of discrimination to no longer be against the rules.

Don't fear, this won't happen, because it is already here.
The difference is, now you would be kicked silently or the party would disband and reform without you, then they can directly point at the source of disparity.

And in the sense of PF: As a party leader for PF i can set any rule i wish, like "catboys only", "Underwear glam only" etc.
Because PF is there to exclude people i don't wish to play with or to find people who have the same style and/or taste like myself.

I personally think you don't REALLY need a parse to become good/or better. I'm a ps4 player and I never once used a parser to get better, what I did what look at outside sources about my job and study people's rotation's among others things.

Though suppose in another case would be to see who's holding back the group with a DPS pulling lower dps than a Healer I guess.

However I still would like a parse to upload to FFLOGS myself instead of betting on randoms preying they're going to upload a good run of mine.

I just want a real time method of tracking my performance without having to rely on static members. An end of duty screen is useless to me, I might have done 6k DPS but I want to know what parts of the encounter cause me to dip or rise so I can work on improving those instances.

Nothing wrong with wanting to see how your personal performance is.
The general rule still applies make sure you have as much uptime on your DoTs and hpe for procs. the rng doesn't have too much effect on your dps

Experience is one thing yes - being able to do a rotation properly while executing mechanics is another thing entirely. The suggestion you've made about playing a class that doesn't need double weaving - how is that any help at all to someone who wants to improve at that job? Some jobs do have double weaving as part of their rotation.
Read. A. Guide. this is an mmo if you want to improve and you haven't joined the balance discord and looked at a guide you are doing it wrong. MMO's don't teach you how to play the game sadly. my comment of double weaving is just a statement of facts some classes relies on the ability to double weave. If you can't that hurts your ability to play the class right and no parser can help you improve you can decide not too and just do less damage.

Why would having an ingame parser mean that Enix is no longer allowed to prohibit dps shaming or bypassing intended ingame systems to access other players dps?

Surely they could just continue with a stance that dps shaming is termed as harrasment and pulling dps data from private parsers breaks ToS?

Umm in 3.x they add something to check your dps if I remember well is call sky,sea stone or something like that.
If you beat the dummy you OK , you don't , need to check gear/rotation.
On my opinion that's the best ps4 users are ever gonna get.
Is not bad having a parser, is the ppl that do wrong with it.

Why is this the immediate fallback? As if I haven't been on the balance discord for months, or that I haven't spent literal days going over the guide posted on TMP for my job and even longer practicing to the point that I no longer need to look at my hotbar? For me, it's not enough... I need to be able to track what I'm doing actively. My numbers vary between 3.9k and 5.8k. Huge variance there and I'm not sure where I need tweaking. A guide helps me optimize, yes, but it can't tell me what I'm doing to cause such a huge variance. And pugs are so random with whether they upload or not that I feel that I'm not playing good.

4 digit number tells you nothing. your huge variance is prob due to aoe and multiple mob summoners do better when they are multiple targets to hit.
