    I don't think an official parser would cause that much damage at all. There's already player created parsers for PC users, they've been around since ARR, there's already numbers posted at the end of FLs and feast, and WoW has most people using parsers, and I could count the times someone has mentioned them in-game on one hand, let alone abused someone for it. And if you do get abused for it, there's still the report function, blacklist, and you can still leave the party.

    And with an official self-only parser, people won't really know what other people's numbers are anyway.
    Also improvements means passing dps checks, getting clears, and why else do people play games, other than self-satisfaction?
    This is a team based game if you failed to realize you striving to add 50 points to your dps amounts to nothing the boss still dies at roughly the same time. Rotations for the most part are static when they do change its because your entire team as tweaked them for a particular fight. At the end of the day if you can preform your rotation your damage is fine and you are a valuable member of your team.

    There's more to simply "doing your rotation", as someone with higher ping, its difficult to weave abilities certain abilities, (for example on rdm, trying to use both contra sixte and fleche in the same gdc cool down) with a parse I can experiment to see and learn exactly the best time to to use my abilities. Also, perhaps I am running for too long after an aoe drops? If I actively reduce the amount of time, how much difference would it make?
    Little things like that, which can add up.

    All of which you don't need a parser for that as i do those things fine without one being a ps4 player you just need experience with the fight. and as for your first point
    stop double weaving or play a class that has little to no need of it.

    Also, if someone accuses me of having low dps (which people do, regardless of whether or not they have a parser) , I currently don't really know if they are telling the truth or not, with a parser I'd know if they are telling the truth or not, for piece of mind.

    And considering some posts on the forums, some people really do need that piece of mind, or it eats at them.

    Some DPS classes are somewhat complicated, and it's not just a simple 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4.

    Sometimes it's nice to walk up to a dummy and test your DPS and try different things to see which is better. *shrug*

    Nothing wrong with wanting to see how your personal performance is.

    I don't worry too much about what others say, but there are nice people who take it quite hard, and I don't want those people to get hurt and stop playing.

    There's a good person on the forums that got some abuse and are now worried about their dps. A parser would give them good piece of mind, rather than doubting themselves.

    Yes...you do those things fine. But what works and seem intuitive to you, will not be easy to others. Nor will they know specifically how they are doing if they don't have the benefits of a parser (assuming that they care to know and want to improve). Experience is one thing yes - being able to do a rotation properly while executing mechanics is another thing entirely. The suggestion you've made about playing a class that doesn't need double weaving - how is that any help at all to someone who wants to improve at that job? Some jobs do have double weaving as part of their rotation.

    That is right "team based" is the key, but this doesn't mean the team has to carry the single one or the single one has to carry the team.
    It means every single team mate has to contribute and improve himself to improve the ability of the team to clear or clear faster.

    Even in amateur sports the weak links will be exchanged.

    This is the best solution, so you can easily say how good someone performes on his level of gear, because potency per second doesn't really change with gear, except of SkS and SpS based jobs.
    But even this is only a minor inconsistence.
    With just potency parsing it is more or less easy to compare the performance, because performance is not DPS including crit luck etc., it's the execution of the rotation.
    Yup. It's just clean, precise action->reward. No RNG. Very little gear impact. Better for personal parsing, honestly. WAY better for broad parsing. I absolutely love the option when it or its likeness is given.
