    Constant bad lags after 4.4

    I'm in this game since around patch 2.3 4637 hours and i never had problems. But after patch 4.4 I have constant lags. They stop only at night and early morning.

    Server: Zodiark
    Platfor: PC
    Type of connection: wired
    Other programs running while the game is playing (if any): sometimes google chrome (tried without it same result)
    Frequency: day-evening
    Everything you have tried to resolve the issue: rebooting router/game/computer, made exceptions in the antivirus

    I don't have any problems with connection in other games. Only here and only after patch 4.4

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Do you notice a pattern to the lag at all? Is it usually in the same place (but not in some others) or only during certain times of the day?

    I'd suggested checking some of the following to try an alleviate the issue:

    The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
    Your ISP can open these ports for you.

    Perform a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    So I did everything you said and now I notice lags only on weekends. On other days I don't notice them or they not as bad.

    Great. Now I can't enter EU data center after dc. It shows different errors.
    I hope SE knows about our problems.

    Thank you for the update Kinsei.

    We are currently having some technical difficulties with the upstream ISP. I can't be certain if this was contributing to the lags you had earlier, but the Data Center is inaccessible to a lot of players right now.

    Hello Einmimiria,

    This problem has been recurring since 4.4 has been launched. I have noticed that when I have a lag spike during savage/trials that it is something that is happening with all players involved. Since we do not live in the same region we can rule out that the single point of failure is with my ISP. I did some recording overnight of my internet connection to the chaos datacenter and kept myself ingame and I noticed that during specific peaks there is a 1% packetloss which would be in line with why people suddenly see the game freeze.

    I can record a extreme fight I am doing and you will see in 7/10 times that the server has a lag spike. The big tell is the balls freezing midway and suddenly launching themselves to the player. This is sadly an ISP / server problem. And I highly recommend a system engineer to examine the CPU/network utlity because it sounds like the servers might be taxed or the ISP be complete pants sadly. The amount of ISP outages the past week do indicate a deeper problem.

    Is it me or problems not only in DDoS? Everyone has different problems after patch 4.4 something is wrong with that patch.

    Hello Einmimiria ,

    I appreciate the response but right now we had another DDOS attack / lag day and it is starting to affect our game experience badly. I know you cannot delve into too much details. But at this stage it would be deeply appreciated.
