Ast doesn’t have an aoe to use at level 50.I ran these two today and had a few issues but it was not impossible to do, if anything it should be easier as DPS. The content is exactly the same as the instances you get through Duty Finder (except the party members are your squadron) so I highly doubt they would nerf the content.
Brayflox went WHM and yes the bombs were awkward, but managed to Holy most of them out of the way. There was the odd occasion where I knew I couldn't move enough in time, so had no choice but to heal though the damage of a couple of them and eventually it worked. Casters should have more aoe and insta-cast type spells available though so can't see it being a problem for them.
Wanderers Palace did as SMN, and honestly the only issue I found with this was that it took a long time to defeat the last boss because the squad preferred to tank it on top of the Idol standards. The first boss was easy enough though, just be sure to Re-engage your squad to attack the spears as soon as they appear.

Are you a White Mage? Use Holy in the middle to push all the bombs at once and then move to the side and use Swifcast Holy to push them again. Then you can use Aero 2 and auto attack(!) to push the rest away.
edit:
Oh, that's unfortunate :x
Anyway, auto attack does increse the amount of bombs you can push. But no idea if it is enough to push enough of them away.

I always do the command missions as a healer, I'm going to get aggro regardless so I might as well be able to heal it.
Because the healer AI is terrible.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Wait till you try the higher level ones like the Vault (at the end section)... your patience with the squadron will be sorely tested unless you go as tank.As a caster I cannot do Brayfox HM, or The Wanderers Palace HM.
It is extremely hard, and nearly impossible. I have spent two, and a half hours trying to earn the emotes, but nope. I died 30+ times.
Fix command missions for squadrons. Either make the A.I. Intelligent enough to destroy bombs, and spears, or nerf the content. It is not designed for single player.

Nope, I'd rather have better AI, but really the solution to just about everything with the squad is to actually tell the squad what target to attack, that includes the bombs in Brayflox HM. If you just need to clear it, go as healer and use holy.As a caster I cannot do Brayfox HM, or The Wanderers Palace HM.

Also, can our Squadron members please have Soul Crystals already? It was cute for ARR stuff, but it's getting silly now that we're getting Heavensward dungeons.
Are we going to be in Ala Mhigo in the future with Squadron members missing 40 levels worth of skills?

Yes please, I can't wait to change my healers to Eos, uhm I meant Scholar. Also, can our Squadron members please have Soul Crystals already? It was cute for ARR stuff, but it's getting silly now that we're getting Heavensward dungeons.

AST in Brayflox Hard is torture on the last boss.

Headed into Brayflox HM last night. Gobmachine's bombs did present a bit of an issue for me, but I did clear it on my third try. My issue was I kept trying to clear a circular safe zone like what regular groups do when they do this instance. This is a bad strategy considering I am three players short who are aware of what's going on. It does help to keep the squad engaged as they will go after random bombs, and the more punted away, the better your chance for survival.
What I noticed is that though quick, the bombs drop and explode in three waves. I noticed that by focusing on punting away the same bombs multiple times instead of multiple bombs once, it allowed for more safe space to stand when the sequential AoEs go off. Taking a job with a solid AoE skill is definitely helpful here. I used Miasma II on my SCH.
Yeah, that was very rough trying to do it as an ast...Are you a White Mage? Use Holy in the middle to push all the bombs at once and then move to the side and use Swifcast Holy to push them again. Then you can use Aero 2 and auto attack(!) to push the rest away.

I eventually ended up focusing on clearing out a section on the outside of the arena, and trying to avoid getting run over.
Since I couldn't clear out enough of the center to make it safe.
